00:00:04 <Ysjoelfir> Thats pretty obvious. but its very enjoyable.
00:00:31 <Ysjoelfir> gooood.... someone, please make it stop and wash out my stomach >_>
00:02:25 * electrohead stops Ysjoelfir
00:02:38 <Ysjoelfir> well... thats kinda legit I guess?
00:03:03 <Ysjoelfir> I decided to try old medicine. that... was probably not the smartest Idea I ever had.
00:11:48 <Halcyon> Old medicine?
00:11:51 <Halcyon> For what?
00:16:05 <Ysjoelfir> ADHD stuff
00:17:23 <Halcyon> Do I need to call you an ambulance?
00:17:32 <Ysjoelfir> haha, no :D I'm fine
00:17:37 <Halcyon> Or at least as my mate at the hospital?
00:17:40 <Halcyon> *ask
00:18:12 <Ysjoelfir> I'm still trying if and how I react to that stuff since I find myself in many situations that fit perfectly to ADHD. tried medikinet/methylphenidad stuff before and it works well, but we found old alternative medication which is not a "real" drug in german law terms, so I wanted to try how I react to that. its called strattera.

00:19:36 <Ysjoelfir> sadly the psychiatric hospital isn't open due to corona, so I can't just go there and let them check it, but I feel like I NEED to know, which is why I experiment with the old stuff mrs. spouse got some years ago, do online tests and so on.
00:22:26 <Halcyon> So you are taking meds for something you haven't been diagnosed with?
00:24:43 <Halcyon> That doesn't sound ideal?
00:27:23 * electrohead throws coffee at Ysjoelfir
00:29:11 <Ysjoelfir> Problem is, that you can't be diagnosed with ADHD that easily in german if you are an adult. it takes a looong time to get an appointmeht for a check, and even then you aren't guaranteed to get any help soon as its still in the mind of many psychiatrists, that ADHD is something that only children can have. And no, I don't take that stuff like regularely. I just tried Medikinet for a few days and increased the amount like it was wr
00:29:11 <Ysjoelfir> the paper which you get with the medication. Since that stuff is highly restricted under german drug law (because students take it regularely to dope themselves since it is working very differently for non-adhd people) I wanted to try the alternative stuff mrs spouse got back then, because she didn't tolerate the medikinet stuff. but it seems like I don't tolerate that at all :D
00:30:12 <Ysjoelfir> this trial-and-error method with medikinet is - by the way - also used by some doctors to see if the person realy has ADHD. because it has very different effects on normal people, compared to people with adhd. so... I should be pretty safe there
00:30:40 * Ysjoelfir casts a magic spell to turn electrohead 's coffee into tea, catches it and enjoys it.
00:44:56 <electrohead> so, a dude from the other eevblog has officially gotten me into set top boxes and such
00:44:59 <electrohead> ...
00:45:14 <electrohead> just purchased a damn webTV unit, with remote and keyboard, for 25 dollars on ebay
00:45:16 <electrohead> guh
00:45:28 <electrohead> I do this to myself, I do this to myself..
00:45:34 <Ysjoelfir> I bet it was enhanox? :D
00:45:36 <Halcyon> "The other" EEVblog? Are you cheating on us?
00:45:55 <Halcyon> Yeh, where the hell is Enhanox by the way?
00:46:13 * Ysjoelfir checked
00:46:17 <Ysjoelfir> in the other EEVBlog channel
00:46:25 <Halcyon> *gasps*
00:46:31 <Halcyon> I am shocked electrohead
00:46:42 <electrohead> yeah it was him, lol
00:46:58 <electrohead> and yes, apparently I'm cheating on you all
00:46:58 <Halcyon> You should be enticing people over here, not the other way around
00:47:01 <electrohead> :/
00:47:11 <Halcyon> I am very disappointed
00:47:14 <electrohead> I am too
00:47:17 <electrohead> :P
00:47:30 * Halcyon gives electrohead the cold shoulder
00:47:34 <Halcyon> ... for 3 seconds
00:47:37 <electrohead> lol
00:47:41 <electrohead> goof :p
00:47:48 <Halcyon> Love you too
00:47:50 <Halcyon> :P
00:47:54 <electrohead> <3
00:48:08 <Halcyon> I probably should go to bed soon, it's nearly 0100
00:48:11 <electrohead> oh, dude, I have the pine64 pinetime watch on the way
00:48:13 <Halcyon> But I'm wide awake
00:48:26 <electrohead> yeah, go get to bed, then?
00:48:34 <Halcyon> Meh
00:48:41 <electrohead> :p
00:49:16 <Halcyon> Yell at Enhanox for me, he should be in here
00:49:25 <Ysjoelfir> He went to bed, so he can't yell
00:49:26 <Ysjoelfir> well
00:49:31 <Ysjoelfir> he can, but I doubt he'll receive it
00:49:38 <Halcyon> Try harder :P
00:50:18 <electrohead> ok, done
00:50:22 <Ysjoelfir> yep
00:50:26 <electrohead> well, Ysjoelfir said more than me
00:50:29 <electrohead> but, still done
00:50:42 <Ysjoelfir> [14:49:50] * Ysjoelfir yells at enhanox very hard
00:50:43 <Ysjoelfir> [14:48:08] * electrohead yells at enhanox louder
00:50:43 <Ysjoelfir> [14:50:06] <Ysjoelfir> YOU ARE BEING MISSED IN THE OTHER CHANNEL!!!
00:50:43 <Ysjoelfir> [14:48:22] <electrohead> xD
00:50:49 * Ysjoelfir feels proud
00:50:55 <Halcyon> Good work guys
00:50:57 * electrohead feels somewhat proud
00:50:59 <Halcyon> *thumbs up*
00:51:59 <Ysjoelfir> and I feel very much better. the feeling in my stomach has gone away and now I feel great. I still toss those old pills, I definitely don't want them, especially since the other ones seem to work. Now off to find a psychiatrist who has time in the next millenia to officially diagnose me xD
00:52:36 <Halcyon> Hooray!
00:52:54 <Halcyon> Does it impair your day-to-day?
00:53:02 <Halcyon> Or you just don't feel "normal" ?
00:54:23 <Ysjoelfir> Sometimes it does, yes. Like, I notice that I often feel very distracted from all sorts of things. my mind is racing, every little sound can distract me. I often walk around wanting to do something and the next second seeing something, like a fluff on the floor, pick that up, bring it to the trash, and totally forgot what I wanted to do in the first place
00:55:40 <Ysjoelfir> another thing I noticed is, that I can't concentrate on conversations if there is anything that bothers me in my sight or if I hear it. like, I'm talking to mrs. spouse, the cat makes a noise, my mind focuses on the cat and I don't follow the conversation anymore
00:56:11 <Ysjoelfir> it results also in some days where I'm sitting at the PC for like... 10 hours, wanting to do some work, but end up doing.. basically nothing at all
00:56:42 <Halcyon> You basically describe me
00:56:55 <hsn> ./join #theOtherEevblog
00:57:26 <Halcyon> But I don't think it's ADHD. I think it's an element of: If I have "too much" time to complete tasks, I put them off to the last minute. I can focus better that way due to time pressure.
00:57:39 <Halcyon> Secondly being a cop has made me hyper-sensitive to my surroundings
00:57:53 <Halcyon> Small noises, small details, shadows, everything, I notice.
00:58:22 <Halcyon> Many inputs all at once, all the time.
00:58:52 <hsn> Woked
00:59:03 <electrohead> was it /part instead?
00:59:10 <Ysjoelfir> I can't do that at all :D the last minute focus thing I mean. And yes, I can totally see how your job influences your feelings/behaviour there. :)
00:59:18 <Ysjoelfir> hi mr. sand
00:59:25 <electrohead> lol
01:00:09 <hsn> http://imgur.com/gallery/F8DDwBF
01:00:37 <hsn> electrohead: idk i found it in top three dots menu
01:01:10 <Halcyon> Is that you hsn?

01:01:45 <Halcyon> Really?
01:01:51 <hsn> Yes
01:02:02 <Halcyon> You will be internet famous for that :P
01:02:08 <Halcyon> Was the shop keeper in on it?
01:02:29 <hsn> Ohhh Halcyon no thats not me lol
01:02:36 <Halcyon> ROFL
01:02:40 <Halcyon> Damn you
01:02:54 <hsn> Lol i was thinking u missed me here
01:03:06 <Halcyon> I do miss you
01:03:11 <hsn> And u asking if me is me xD
01:03:25 <K> hm, i guess regular folk there give less fucks about religion there than i tought
01:03:57 <hsn> K, meaning
01:04:22 <K> isnt messing and joking bout religion stuff there kinda frowned upon?
01:04:48 <Ysjoelfir> so... next point on the list: finally decide for a OS on the NAS hardware.... you guys (AND those on the other EEVBlog ;P ) keep irritating me xD

01:06:45 <Halcyon> Even though it's in Japanese
01:06:46 <hsn> K not to all .. used to be .. now internet is there ppl send all sort of stuff
01:07:43 <hsn> Ysjoelfir: which nas you own by the way
01:08:07 <hsn> Nas in arabic means people ..
01:08:25 <hsn> Which ppl hardware u own
01:09:05 <Ysjoelfir> I own a bunch of hardware that is blocking my desk. an X370 board with an Ryzen 1700x, 8gb ram and a XGI Volari Z11 GPU
01:09:56 <hsn> So ur nas is just a regular pc?
01:11:10 <Ysjoelfir> yes
01:11:13 <Ysjoelfir> well
01:11:25 <Ysjoelfir> with a 400€ raid controller and 12HDDs
01:13:52 <rust_collector> does it have rgb leds?
01:14:15 <Ysjoelfir> it would have, but disabling them was one of the first things I did
01:14:42 <rust_collector> rgb would make it much faster
01:15:09 <rust_collector> at least if you play solitaire on it
01:16:37 <rust_collector> with leds, I can run solitaire at 200fps, yo!
01:16:52 <Ysjoelfir> woah!
01:17:05 <electrohead> Halcyon: that train simulator is a bit interesting
01:20:37 <rust_collector> if I had some disorder in my head, I would be a little bit worried about how I would react to having it "fixed"...
01:20:54 <Ysjoelfir> it feels great
01:21:25 <Ysjoelfir> like, being able to appreciate stuff that you just ignored before, thats nice :D
01:21:40 <rust_collector> hmmm
01:24:37 <hsn> Im hungry
01:24:49 <hsn> Pallate is lost ?
01:25:11 <Ysjoelfir> who is that and why is he lost?
01:25:14 <hsn> The nordic controlled Dildos
01:26:26 <hsn> Idk month ago rust_collector used to joke about them
01:26:42 <Ysjoelfir> I think I roughly remember
01:27:05 <hsn> Pallet
01:27:10 <hsn> Nordic nrf
01:27:59 <Ysjoelfir> aaah yes I remember
01:28:05 <Ysjoelfir> that was a joke, yes :D
01:29:19 <rust_collector> arrgh you nordic shareholders and your non-joke policy

03:40:00 <arch> looks pretty good eh? https://i.imgur.com/LTWxGT6.png
03:42:10 <arch> that inductor is WAAAY overspecced, but those are the only types of coupled inductors i have hehe
03:42:29 <arch> PCB size 2.5cm by 4.5cm
03:50:39 <T3sl4> should run cool
03:57:25 <arch> ok, trouble is getting the feedback trace back. i can either: 1. drill holes and route it from the back (shortest path); or 2. route it over the top, but have to use a slightly larger pcb
03:57:37 <arch> im inclined to go with option 2
04:00:07 <arch> yep, soo the new PCB size becomes 2.8cm by 4.5cm, i'll take it. im routing the feedback right above a ground pour, so hopefully no noise issues
04:01:47 <arch> which, i dont expect any noise issues regardless, because i did the same thing with a TPS562201 on single sided board, and the waveforms looked damn good
04:01:53 <arch> (with a transient load too)
04:06:07 <T3sl4> just jumper it
04:07:56 <arch> this is my plan: red trace is going to be running on top. awg32 enamel wire: https://i.imgur.com/L3oMXY0.png
04:09:59 <arch> keepout areas look a bit weird, because i used 0.5mm clearance. but i don't wanna go around slicing joined planes, and 0.5mm is the sweet spot for me. i can do 0.3mm, but etching takes too long
04:12:39 <arch> ahh, i've come pretty far. i remember when i used to make really crappy looking PCBs on veroboards..
04:12:52 <arch> let me pull up a pretty awful design so i can cringe at myself and you guys can laugh at it
04:23:21 <arch> yes...mc34063 1:12 flyback: https://imgur.com/a/XVCCZeT
04:23:28 <arch> noob design :D

04:55:41 <steve30> meow :)
05:05:45 <hsn> hoh
05:06:41 <hsn> which one has higher specs in ur opinion guys
05:06:44 <hsn> https://focusrite.com/en/usb-audio-interface/scarlett/scarlett-solo
05:06:48 <hsn> or
05:06:49 <hsn> https://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-itwo
05:07:36 <coppice> The Focusrite ones are very good. I've never used a Presonus
05:09:22 <K> https://apogeedigital.com/products/duet ?
05:11:42 <hsn> https://apogeedigital.com/products/duet/specifications
05:12:40 <hsn> 2x price i think :D
05:13:30 <coppice> There are some very expensive ones, but they are often filled with features most people will never use. They aren't really any better sound wise
05:14:29 <hsn> ah
05:15:21 <coppice> what do you want to do? If its something like podcast, or direct inject a guitar those simple products are very good choices
05:17:25 <coppice> Its remarkably cheap these days to make super low noise mic amps, and high performance DACs and ADCs
05:18:15 <coppice> I wonder if the fire at AKM did disrupt the supply of converters, or was it really only non-converter products that were handled at that site?
05:26:22 <steve30> I want to go downstairs to get some dinner but i don't want to get roped into faffing with my mum's wireless network, so I think food will have to wait till later
05:35:49 <arch> woohoo, im ready to build

05:40:22 <arch> didnt know llama sausages were a thing
05:40:41 <arch> i know people ate horses, and camels, but not llamas
05:41:19 <rust_collector> I have had grilled llama before, but never sausage
05:41:40 <arch> what about alpacas, do people eat them too
05:41:59 <coppice> half a llama? that must be a very big sausage

07:10:23 <Ampera> Nothing\, alright tony the tiger, now can you please put some pants on
07:10:36 <Nothing\> lol never!
07:10:44 <Nothing\> that's funny cuz i'm not wearing pants
07:10:45 <Ampera> hi Nothing\ how are you doing
07:10:54 <Ampera> I know, I can tell
07:11:00 <Nothing\> i'm doing quite well now, thanks for asking
07:11:05 <Nothing\> how about you? how are you doing?
07:11:13 <Ampera> A bit better.
07:11:18 <Nothing\> that's good to hear
07:11:26 <Ampera> though I threw half of my sunday away doing surgery on a mouse
07:11:30 <Ampera> and the thing's still fucked
07:11:59 <coppice> of mice and men
07:12:14 <Nothing\> Ampera, lol i thought you meant a live mouse for a second
07:12:26 <Ampera> no it's quite dead now
07:12:28 <Nothing\> but yeah, i've learned you just can't take a mouse apart and put it back together again and have it be the same
07:12:34 <Nothing\> computer mice are difficult to repair, as well
07:12:53 <Ampera> this random dell mouse I just hooked up seems like it's alright
07:12:58 <Ampera> in other news, I have a new computer
07:13:06 <Ampera> someone gave away an iMac with a sandy bridge i5 in it
07:13:15 <Nothing\> lol seriously though my problem's always been with the scroll wheel. I'll lose a spring or something out of it and it'll stop clicking and just roll freely
07:13:15 <Ampera> so it's going to become my new DAW as soon as I finish imaging the drive
07:13:49 <Nothing\> actually i've got 2 or 3 logitech mice where the buttons have gone on them and get really bad bounce to the point where single clicks end up as double clicks about half the time
07:13:56 <Ampera> I've also decided that I'm going to restart HRT
07:14:03 <Nothing\> i found out you can fix it pretty easily, but of course i'm reluctant to dismantle a mouse
07:14:06 <Nothing\> oh yeah?
07:14:30 <Ampera> aye, need to make some appointments (which I had to do anyways)
07:14:47 <Ampera> I think this time around I've started seeing it more as something I want to do than something I feel I have no choice but to do
07:15:05 <Ampera> ah, I also bought a new soldering iron
07:15:07 <Ampera> a TS100
07:15:10 <Nothing\> that's good. that will definitely make it less stressful
07:15:11 <Ampera> pretty nice little doodad
07:15:14 <Nothing\> nice!
07:15:25 <Nothing\> i dunno what i wanna buy
07:15:36 <Nothing\> i got $100 amazon gift card and i'm not even sure how to use it
07:15:46 <hsn> coppice how many seconds can pilot withstand 8-9 g-force
07:15:57 <Nothing\> and certainly dunno what i'd buy with it
07:15:57 <hsn> Usually
07:16:06 <Nothing\> hsn: depends
07:16:19 <Nothing\> some people can tolerate high G forces, but 8-9 is a LOT

07:16:38 <hsn> ^^
07:16:38 <Nothing\> i don't think a pilot would willingly pull 9G
07:16:47 <Nothing\> at least while flying
07:17:01 <Nothing\> but some people are more sensitive to G loads than others, as well
07:17:18 <Nothing\> some people will pass out before even reaching 8G, even with a G suit and proper technique
07:17:38 <coppice> hsn: do you mean someone in full pilot outfit, or just the average person?
07:17:55 <hsn> Pilot outfit military
07:18:49 <hsn> And these rooms how the simulate the g on pilots ? Or they are actually falling on real plane?
07:20:07 <Nothing\> hsn: have you read/heard the story of the guy who ejected while going supersonic
07:20:16 <Nothing\> the force the air literally ripped his legs off
07:20:16 <coppice> In a full pilot's kinky corset outfit they are supposed to handle 8 or 9 G for a while. On something like a roller coaster, I think they have to keep it below 5 for someone well supported in their seat, and the turns on a roller coaster don't last very long
07:21:31 <Nothing\> there's also another story of a guy who had to eject from an sr-71 at altitude
07:21:36 <Nothing\> ie 70,000 feet or so
07:21:39 <hsn> Nothing\ no didnt will look it up
07:22:00 <Nothing\> actually history guy did a great video on the sr-71 ejection, lemme dig that one up for you
07:22:10 <coppice> 5G doesn't sound that much. Me weighing 600 kilos does
07:22:26 <Ampera> so you're saying 5G makes you fat
07:22:30 <Ampera> the conspiracy nuts were right >:/
07:22:44 <Nothing\> haven't read about the first one in a long time though, but let's just say the ejection and his legs being ripped off (save for a few threads holding one of them on). He was in the middle of the ocean.
07:22:54 <hsn> Coppice in roller coaster i only feel the fear is the problem not actual blood and g force .. no?
07:22:59 <Nothing\> so it's a pretty harrowing tale
07:23:18 <Nothing\> and i believe the guy in the sr-71 lost consciousness for some time while in free fall, but that could have been another story
07:23:51 <Nothing\> here we go
07:23:52 <Nothing\> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRyIGTkcmII&ab_channel=TheHistoryGuy%3AHistoryDeservestoBeRemembered
07:23:59 <coppice> hsn: without a corset you couldn't take a roller coaster if the loops kept going. you don't lose consciousness in the time the high G loops last
07:24:07 <Nothing\> that's the SR-71 ejection, also a terrific channel
07:24:34 <Nothing\> i don't even like history. But this guy's enthusiasm is so contagious, I can't help but keep coming back for more.
07:25:01 <coppice> I was in a hanger once with a hole in the roof due to a recent ejector seat fault. nobody wanted to tell us if anyone was in or near the thing at the time
07:25:41 <Nothing\> coppice, some guy actually designed a roller coaster that would euthanize its riders through prolonged, high g-forces produced by a series of loops, each smaller than the last
07:26:29 <Nothing\> apparently it sustains 10G for 60 seconds
07:27:33 <Nothing\> lol my cats are always playing "the floor is lava"
07:27:40 <coppice> I think they keep modern space craft to about 3G maximum, but that is sustained for several minutes
07:27:44 <Nothing\> like they'll walk across the room, but never touch the floor
07:28:01 <Nothing\> just walking along the tables, on the top of the couch, along the railing of the stairs
07:28:06 <Nothing\> anywhere but the floor
07:30:06 <Nothing\> coppice, yeah space crafts don't pull many Gs unless you're in KSP
07:30:23 <Nothing\> i dunno what my max is, the meter only goes up to 15, but i've buried the needle more than once
07:33:19 <coppice> A little Googling says Mercury peaked at 11G on sub-orbital flights, and 8G on orbital flights
07:34:04 <coppice> some of these craft pull more G on re-entry than on ascent
07:35:28 <Nothing\> lol that reminds me, i watched this documentary the other day that was trying to claim apollo 7 was the first manned flight in space
07:35:36 <Nothing\> either first manned or america's first manned
07:36:15 <Nothing\> coppice, mercury was basically just an atlas missile, though
07:36:20 <Nothing\> i think it was atlas
07:36:37 <Nothing\> but aside from the payload, the vehicle itself was never meant for manned flight.
07:36:58 <Nothing\> payload being the capsule, service module, all the stuff in the nose.
07:38:07 <Nothing\> still, those don't hold a torch to the stuff john stapp
07:38:51 <Nothing\> he pulled a maximum of 46G on his rocket sled
07:39:25 <Nothing\> what he'd do is get it up to speed, then slow it down rapidly by having water at the end of the track for the sled to go through
07:39:40 <Nothing\> basically simulating a car crash
07:39:46 <Nothing\> a several hundred mph
07:39:51 <Nothing\> *at
07:40:17 <rust_collector> Nothing\, what made you look at all the things about Gs?
07:40:51 <Nothing\> rust_collector, somebody asked earlier how long a pilot could remain conscious at 8-9 Gs
07:41:09 <Nothing\> so i'm assuming we're all googling stuff about G forces now
07:42:04 <Nothing\> one thing you don't consider about high G is that while the blood pools in the legs, whatever blood that DOES reach the heart is gonna be too heavy for it to pump effectively. Especially to the brain.
07:42:45 <coppice> That's one thing I do consider. Its why space craft lay you nearly flat
07:42:55 <Nothing\> huh, i never thought of that
07:43:43 <coppice> several minutes of ascent at 3G with your head well above your heart won't work out very well
07:43:58 <Nothing\> coppice, apparently part of the testing they did to see what microgravity would do involved having subjects lie in a bed tilted backwards 15 degrees so the blood pools in their head and stay there for several weeks.
07:44:04 <Nothing\> wouldn't you like that job?
07:44:47 <Nothing\> coppice, yeah but with your head below your heart you get negative Gs, which are more dangerous since they can cause strokes and rupture all sorts of blood vessels in your brain
07:45:14 <Nothing\> they probably don't have them perfectly horizontal, but at like 15-30 degrees or something like that.
07:46:00 <Nothing\> there are pictures of john stapp after his negative G experiments and you can see all of the blood vessels in his eyes are blown out
07:46:35 <Nothing\> which i've actually done to myself by pooping too hard lol
07:47:09 <Nothing\> looks crazy gnarly, but it's apparently harmless.
07:47:13 <rust_collector> so now you know that you get up to around 45G when you poop hard
07:47:59 <Nothing\> rust_collector, actually part of what they do to force the blood up into their brain during high G maneuvers is to bear down like they're pooping
07:48:16 <coppice> A women gets some amazing forcing when birthing. Women do better on G force tests
07:48:21 <Nothing\> which btw, i've been trying for YEARS to find a wiki page on bearing down and haven't been able to
07:48:52 <Nothing\> coppice, that could be down to their smaller frame, less volume to pump blood around
07:49:12 <Nothing\> but then they'd have a smaller, weaker heart as a result of that one would think.
07:49:13 <rust_collector> except that some women are larger than some men
07:49:22 <Nothing\> those are called lesbians
07:49:26 <Nothing\> :P
07:49:42 <Nothing\> sorry, i've been watching a lot of family guy lately
07:49:48 <rust_collector> mmkay. call them what you want
07:50:41 <hsn> Coppice, maybe bcz they have g spot
07:50:51 <Nothing\> har
07:51:19 <Nothing\> wait a minute
07:51:37 <Nothing\> so if women have a homologue of every piece of male genitalia
07:51:45 <Nothing\> and vice versa
07:51:53 <Nothing\> then what's the male homologue of the G spot?
07:52:12 <rust_collector> the c-l spot
07:52:23 <Nothing\> lol
07:52:36 <hsn> C-l ?
07:52:41 <rust_collector> c-l
07:52:54 <hsn> Hah
07:53:41 <Nothing\> oooh this sounds like a tittilating paper. The physiology of erections.
07:53:50 <Nothing\> i bet the guy who wrote that was gay
07:53:59 <T3sl4> Nothing\: the P spot
07:54:04 <Nothing\> lol
07:54:28 <Nothing\> careful with that P spot, you might end up making another P spot on your carpet.
07:55:04 <T3sl4> not really, massaging it tends to result in semen
07:55:26 <Nothing\> oh the prostate

09:03:24 <MrMobodies> Hello, going to go out tomorrow and exercise what I am allowed to do
09:03:24 <EEVBlog> Hello there, MrMobodies!
09:03:47 <steve30> What Tier are you in?
09:03:51 <MrMobodies> I need to go out I have been at home 2 months, I think I went out 3 weeks ago
09:03:52 <MrMobodies> tier 4
09:03:54 <rust_collector> you are going outside to sit on your stairs?
09:03:58 <MrMobodies> stay at home
09:04:16 <MrMobodies> I don't understand if that is a joke
09:04:24 <steve30> I only glanced through the regulations but I think you can leave for exercise purposes
09:04:25 <Ampera> I'm in tier let's go to the buffet
09:04:29 <MrMobodies> but I want go out I can't been in the same place all the time
09:04:37 <MrMobodies> yes exercise
09:04:54 <Ampera> new york is weird
09:05:06 <MrMobodies> oh
09:05:07 <steve30> as long as you are on your own you should be fine
09:05:21 <Ampera> we have positive rates breaking records for the pandemic, yet everything's just business as usual pretty much
09:05:29 <MrMobodies> and I hear the shops are open for essential things. the last time i went into Whittlesey in tier 2 people were not keeping their distance
09:06:14 <MrMobodies> well I feel like I am in a stand still but got to do something outside
09:06:29 <steve30> Take a social distancing broom with you
09:06:45 <MrMobodies> I see and hit people who get to close
09:06:57 <MrMobodies> well not hit bu nudge
09:08:34 <MrMobodies> talking of buffets I came across an article
09:08:57 <MrMobodies> https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/group-fined-by-police-for-breaking-tier-4-restrictions-to-play-dominoes/ar-BB1cr3jM
09:09:49 <MrMobodies> the time last year I was at my local village pub
09:10:14 <MrMobodies> oh well maybe things will get back to normal after March or April
09:10:42 <rust_collector> nah, maybe after christmas
09:11:43 <MrMobodies> won't surprise me, I am not sure if they are being helped but the pub may probably close for good.
09:12:40 <MrMobodies> there was someone in there who went to Switzerland to do some work at data centre for some Centure subsidary
09:12:52 <MrMobodies> they kept on changing the terms and he was very reluctant
09:13:31 <MrMobodies> they told him to forget about the introduction in London and he had a get on a plane the day, just some days before the lockdown
09:14:22 <MrMobodies> I know he had a mortgage to pay and he was looking for work so I think he might have been fortunate
09:15:23 <MrMobodies> oh it's Octo technologies that Accenture brought out some years ago.
09:16:04 <MrMobodies> to do with access control and monitoring stuff
09:17:38 <MrMobodies> Also my chair is falling apart, the plastic bits are falling off the castor wheel.
09:18:00 <MrMobodies> go to go and look for another chair

09:21:59 <MrMobodies> I didn't I know Russia could get to -46c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVHofQB1xCw
09:23:00 <rust_collector> it can get lower than 46
09:25:04 <rust_collector> https://www.wikiwand.com/en/Oymyakon
09:25:56 <coppice> if it could only get down to -79 they could take CO2 out of the atmosphere naturally :)
09:33:02 <rust_collector> heh, just stuff it into plastic bags
09:34:49 <coppice> "The lowest temperature ever recorded at the South Pole was – 82.8°C on the 23 June 1982" - that should have created some dry ice frost
09:35:17 <T3sl4> https://i.imgur.com/hnTPJYb.jpg
09:36:56 <coppice> T3sl4: in the current context people aren't asking questions like that
09:37:34 <T3sl4> not right at this instant
09:37:39 <T3sl4> spose i could tag hsn though ;)
09:38:02 <rust_collector> hsn, he should be in bed
09:57:49 <MrMobodies> I know some of my family in Canada said they experience temperatures of -20c in some winters
09:58:19 <rust_collector> that should be pretty common there. we get that most winters here
09:59:46 <MrMobodies> just looking at the mailbag video and looks different but I like the studio and the TV on wheels.
10:00:45 <MrMobodies> but that was a nice looking hammer and so well machined
10:01:24 <MrMobodies> he crushed the switch with it and it looked to me a little like how you can swat a fly.
10:02:22 <rust_collector> someone sent him a widlarizer?
10:02:36 <T3sl4> looks like ave did

18:28:01 <EEVBlog> New EEVBlog Tweet: I'm going to change my Vegas render codec to Constant Qp from VBR, this will result in smaller rendered file sizes. Not important you Youtube, but important for Odysee, Utreon, Bitchute etc that pull the video from Youtube. A smaller file size should make them playback faster

18:52:56 <Ampera> I don't know why it would blow my mind if they're correct, but it'd just take a single bitflip along the way to cause it, from reading to compressing to network to storage to decompressing to sha1sum

20:06:26 <Ampera> well I found a random mouse that doesn't completely suck
20:06:36 <Ampera> so I'm using that, while I wait for a nicer ASUS mouse I bought for 20 bucks
20:06:40 <Ampera> laser, switchable DPI
20:06:43 <Ampera> hopefully it's fine
20:07:19 <Ampera> aw sweet

20:07:46 * electrohead bolts onto Halcyon's rack
20:07:50 <Halcyon> :P
20:07:52 <Ampera> I did a dd into gzip into SFTP, and I just did a sha1sum on both sides, it's identical
20:07:54 <electrohead> :p
20:08:01 <Ampera> now I can install linux
20:08:11 <electrohead> Ampera: how long did it take?
20:09:08 <electrohead> and, you should also get a decent spool of solder, desoldering wick, desolder pump, and flux
20:09:11 <electrohead> :p
20:10:31 <Ampera> a few hours probably
20:10:35 <Ampera> it's a 500GB hard drive

20:12:30 <electrohead> not too bad
20:12:46 <Ampera> I set it up a couple hours before I went to bed, and when I woke up it was done
20:14:19 <Halcyon> Hmmm tube of 9x NEC 8085 micro processors...
20:14:23 <Halcyon> What could I use them for?
20:15:49 <Ysjoelfir> I thijnk I have some tubes of those as well.

20:16:51 <electrohead> Halcyon: are you buying or selling these parts?
20:17:02 <Halcyon> Buying :P Maybe
20:17:12 <Halcyon> I am looking at the latest specials on a supplier website

20:20:08 <Halcyon> That's not's all that's in the closet :P
20:20:24 <Ampera> no, but you being a cop, it wouldn't be a big brain career move to elaborate
20:20:34 <steve30> I have an IMac G5, but i prefer my powermac g4
20:21:30 <Ampera> It's only now that I'm starting to remember when an iMac like this would be a big fucking deal on your desk, and now it's just about good enough for use as a DAW
20:21:30 <K> power strip on table, eew

20:23:05 <Ampera> I think I forgot to install grub on pacstrap
20:23:16 <Ampera> if I did, that would mean I installed everything except the one thing I need to boot
20:23:53 <Ampera> hopefully iMacs are just normal EFI64 machines that works like a normal EFI machine
20:24:06 <Ampera> as far as I know they are, but apple could always fuck me in the ass
20:25:16 <Ampera> no I did install grub
20:30:39 <Ampera> ay, it boots
20:31:35 <electrohead> my laptop froze up pretty hard before
20:31:40 <electrohead> back to normal, now
20:38:36 <Ampera> No issues from this iMac whatsoever, everything's gone entirely too well
20:38:46 * Halcyon noms on Samyang x2 spicy noodles
20:39:00 * Ampera throws x3 noodles at Halcyon, watches as he actually melts
20:39:08 <Halcyon> I want to try those
20:39:16 <Halcyon> x2 is about on the threshold of pain for me
20:39:23 <Ampera> I couldn't even handle the x1 spicy
20:39:30 <Ampera> though those tasted just as spicy as the x2
20:39:51 <Ampera> today I'm having curry yakisoba with mixed mushrooms
20:39:54 <Halcyon> electrohead, did I ever send you those noodles?
20:39:58 <Halcyon> Oh yum
20:40:15 <Ampera> pff, if he wants some I'll send him a pack next time I'm at the asian supermarket
20:40:18 <Ampera> save you the shipping
20:40:24 <Halcyon> True
20:40:49 <Ampera> if he has a local asian supermarket they'd probably have it too

20:42:22 <electrohead> and, I don't have a local asian market like that
20:42:45 <Halcyon> Bah, those are just the regular spicy ones
20:42:54 <Halcyon> I mean, that is a lot of noodles
20:44:28 <Halcyon> This is the one I just had https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVqM5fhMKlc
20:46:24 <Ampera> electrohead, it's cheap enough to ship you some noodles if you want any
20:46:34 <Ampera> I can give you some of the ones I like to have myself
20:46:50 <Ampera> asian instant noodle tech is far and beyond ours :P
20:47:18 <Halcyon> Hahaha instant noodle tech
20:49:17 <electrohead> hrmm
20:49:31 <electrohead> I .. kind of want to try this, now
20:49:57 <Ampera> I could probably get through a package given a gallon of cold milk and maybe because someone will die if I don't
20:50:37 <Halcyon> It's really delicious
20:50:52 <electrohead> Yeah I don't think I can buy this locally
20:50:59 <Ampera> that's what's sad
20:51:03 <Ampera> they taste so good
20:51:06 <Ampera> but are inedible
20:51:20 <electrohead> probably have to resort buying it online
20:51:45 <Halcyon> You could mix 1 pack of spice paste with 2 packs of ramen, it would be quite good
20:52:22 <Ampera> electrohead, I can ship you some
20:52:29 <Ampera> I can get it for way cheaper than you'd have to pay online
20:52:31 <Ampera> even adding USPS
20:52:43 <Ampera> a pack of those noodles is like a few bucks at my local asian place
20:53:13 <electrohead> how much is a 5 pack?
20:53:47 <Ampera> I just told you, a few bucks
20:53:53 <Ampera> at most
20:53:58 <Ampera> 2-3
20:54:40 <electrohead> well, there are different sized packs :P
20:54:44 <electrohead> but, hrmm
20:54:49 <electrohead> I may take you up on your offer
20:55:06 <Halcyon> They do a few curry flavours which are nice too
20:56:15 <electrohead> Ampera: you know what, hook me up with a pack of the x1, and a pack of x2
20:56:24 <electrohead> err, 1x and 2x
20:56:40 <Ampera> alright, I just went there, so it'll probably be a little while until I go there again.
20:56:46 <electrohead> ok that's cool
20:56:58 <Ampera> but I'll throw some other stuff in, I'll let you know when
20:57:12 <Halcyon> Can I go halves with you Ampera?
20:57:29 <Ampera> for what
20:57:37 <Halcyon> Sending him noodles
20:57:40 <electrohead> once you go again, let me know the grand total
20:57:53 <electrohead> Halcyon: that sounds... interesting
20:57:57 <electrohead> 'sending me noodles'
20:57:59 <electrohead> :P
20:58:11 <Ampera> it'd be like 20-30 bucks for noodles+shipping, there's not much to go half on

22:30:35 <EEVBlog> New EEVBlog Tweet: Wow, just WOW. The UK judge just DENIED extradition of Julian Assange! HUGE WIN for press freedoms! I thought the game was rigged. Does this mean he now he simply walks free from UK prison?
22:31:00 <Ampera> the UK courts doing something right?
22:31:19 <Ampera> that's like the US pulling out of a country
22:31:27 <Ampera> it happens once in a lifetime
22:31:55 <EEVBlog> New EEVBlog Retweet: Freedom of the Press: The extradition request was not decided on press freedom grounds; rather, the judge essentially ruled the US prison system was too repressive to extradite. However, the result will protect journalists everywhere.
22:32:36 <Ampera> hahaha
22:34:36 <EEVBlog> New EEVBlog Retweet: Matt Kennard: Brilliant news, but be in no doubt. This ruling is utterly chilling for investigative journalism. Baraitser sided with US prosecutors on pretty much all of their arguments. It was the barbaric nature of the US penal system that saved Assange. https://t.co/Klf03I7yFI
22:36:38 <Ampera> that's a strange paradox, it's the US basically running legal slave farms that saved him
22:41:18 <EEVBlog> New EEVBlog Retweet: Glenn Greenwald: This wasn't a victory for press freedom. Quite the contrary: the judge made clear she believed there are grounds to prosecute Assange in connection with the 2010 publication. It was, instead, an indictment of the insanely oppressive US prison system for security "threats."
