03:48:16 <coppice> it depends on which 3 cent MCU you choose. some are designed for toys, come untested, and nobody cares very much about the failure rate. The 3 cent Paduak MCUs people in the forum have been playing with are supplied fully tested, and should be reliable

17:09:55 <T3sl4> close packed 0402 or 0201, forget about getting an iron in there, may be doable once on initial assembly but good luck swapping anything out
