00:47:34 <Nothing\> holy shit i need to convert my car to run on Jet A1
00:47:48 <Nothing\> i was just looking up prices, it's friggin 90 cents a litre in canada
00:47:53 <rust1> so, you need an older diesel car... ok
00:47:59 <Nothing\> compared to almost $1.80 for regular petrol
00:48:11 <Nothing\> rust1, that's funny because diesel is like $2.30 a litre
00:48:24 <Nothing\> even though for most of my life it's been about half the price of petrol
00:48:27 <rust1> they run on jet fuel just fine
00:48:45 <Nothing\> then when gas prices shot up suddenly during the recession, diesel suddenly got super expensive
00:49:03 <Nothing\> rust1, yeah it's just kerosene and i figure maybe an oxidizer like nitromethane?
00:49:04 <Nothing\> i dunno
00:49:13 <Nothing\> i just know it's mostly kerosene
00:49:25 <Nothing\> i'm not sure what they do to it to make it jet worthy
00:49:46 <rust1> I do not think therer is any nithromethane in it. maybe, but I do not think so
00:49:46 <Nothing\> but i'm assuming it has to do with... well not octane rating, jet engines won't get knocking, hopefully.
00:50:01 <Nothing\> i'd imagine if a jet engine ran off balance at all the forces would tear it apart
00:50:22 <rust1> diesels do not cre about octane either. they use cetane
00:50:27 <Nothing\> which really makes you appreciate the machining tolerances on the turbines and internal parts
00:50:34 <Nothing\> they have to be 100% perfectly centered
00:50:42 <Nothing\> i bet the tolerances are as tight as a flywheel's
00:50:54 <Nothing\> cetane? that's a new one to me
00:51:17 <Nothing\> transliteration i'm guessing?
00:51:26 <Nothing\> like how british pronounce methyl as "mee-thile"
00:51:41 <Nothing\> or acetyl as "ass-eh-tile"
00:51:49 <K> ass bandits.
00:51:59 <rust1> wth are you on about now? lol
00:52:01 <Nothing\> urgh itch healing wounds suck
00:52:14 <Nothing\> rust1, just that in all my studies of o-chem i've never heard of a cetane group
00:52:23 <Nothing\> and i've heard of some unusual functional groups
00:52:28 Part: Kuschelpony ([email protected]) from #EEVblog (Ex-Chat)
00:52:28 <K> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cetane_number
00:52:28 <Nothing\> like acetoxy
00:52:28 <EEVBot> [wikipedia] Cetane number | "Cetane number (cetane rating) is an indicator of the combustion speed of diesel fuel and compression needed for ignition. It plays a similar role for diesel as octane rating does for gasoline. The CN is an important factor in determining the quality of diesel fuel, but not the only one; other measurements of diesel fuel's quality include (but are not limited to) energy content, density, lubricity, cold-flow properties and […]"
00:52:57 <Nothing\> K, well i know what that means i just don't know what cetane is i've never heard of it
00:52:58 <K> C(16)H(34)
00:53:06 <K> huge ass hydrocarbon
00:53:07 * Nothing\ cocks his head trying to picture it
00:53:09 <Nothing\> yeah
00:53:16 <Nothing\> wtf is it a wax
00:53:46 <Nothing\> usually you get above 10 carbons they're solid at room temperature
00:53:49 <Nothing\> 10-12
00:54:02 <Nothing\> i guess it depends on double or cyclical bonds
00:54:28 <rust1> does it matter? it is just a rating comparing to that stuff
00:54:30 <Nothing\> but yeah i've gotta look this thing up
00:54:42 <Nothing\> rust1, because it's a chemical i've never heard of and i need to know what it is now
00:54:48 <Nothing\> because i need to know everything i don't know
00:55:19 <rust1> that is fine, but why not look into the thing you can have a use for?
00:56:02 <rust1> speaking of that. do you remember the octane rating of nitromethane?
01:05:07 <Nothing\> rust1, why can't i look into both?
01:05:12 <Nothing\> i have no use for anything right now
01:05:17 <Nothing\> when i do, i'll learn about it
01:05:22 <Nothing\> no need, that is
01:05:31 <Nothing\> mean time i'll learn about whatever i can
01:05:59 <rust1> meh, do what you want
01:08:16 <Nothing\> hexadecane
01:08:19 <Nothing\> not cetane
01:08:43 <Nothing\> i thought that's what it was but i was thrown off by the name
01:09:30 <Nothing\> huh still a liquid at that point
01:10:13 <Nothing\> that's weird because i remember when i first got into o-chem trying to look up the first 20 or so alkanes and past 9 or 10 i couldn't get much information at all on them. Maybe one sentence descriptions.
01:10:35 <Nothing\> i was trying to find the point at which they transition from liquids to solids
01:11:20 <Nothing\> oh, just barely a liquid
01:11:25 <Nothing\> melting point is 18c lol
01:13:15 <Nothing\> actually i guess that's not much different from the fat in your gravy. It melts when it's warm, but stick it in the fridge and the fats all solidify into white chunks. Which btw is a great way to help you lose weight. If you have anything with liquid fat that turns solid like that you can just skim some of it off and every 14g you remove is about an hour worth of exercise you don't have to do to burn it off.
01:13:36 <Nothing\> or when it's liquid on something like pizza or bacon, dab it off with a paper towel
01:14:06 <Nothing\> i mean i've never had any results with it. But I heard from a guy on youtube who knew a guy who knew a guy. So you can't get more credible than that.
01:14:27 <Nothing\> i always say, anything more than 7 degrees of separation from the source is too many
01:14:55 <Nothing\> (you can never have more than 7 degrees of separation from any person on the planet apparently)
01:15:05 <Nothing\> or maybe it's 8 i forget. But it's surprisingly few people.
01:15:34 <Nothing\> shit, i realized even i only have what?... 3 degrees of separation between myself and the queen of england
01:15:40 <Nothing\> and 2 between me and meghan markel
01:16:15 <Nothing\> my brother was friends with a guy who dated her in high school
01:16:58 <Nothing\> lol the idea of knowing somebody as being an achievement is weird to me though
01:17:02 <Nothing\> now that i really think about it
01:17:30 <rust1> well, if you know no one, I guess it would be
01:17:35 <Nothing\> people actually take pride in the people they know, or people they've even met. Not even actually. Even if it was just you know somebody who once MET somebody famous, it's braggable.
01:17:46 <Nothing\> rust1, i know Nothing\
01:17:51 <rust1> oooh
01:17:51 <Nothing\> wait a minute
01:18:07 <Nothing\> is that what that colonel schultz was always talking about on Hogan's Heroes?
01:18:21 <Nothing\> when he always says "I SAW NOZEENG!"
01:18:37 <Nothing\> damn i've gotta dl that show that was a good show
01:18:55 <Nothing\> sad what happened to the guy who played Hogan though. I always feel bummed out a bit when I watch it because of that.
01:19:09 <Nothing\> a psycho caved his skull in with camera equipment in his home
01:19:25 <Nothing\> at least... i think that's what happened
01:19:51 <Nothing\> either way after the sharon tate thing, i woulda hauled ass outta hollywood for at least a decade
01:24:00 <rust1> there is a place in germany called dingolfing. I like that

01:46:38 * electrohead beers rust1
01:47:15 <rust1> ooh, more sticky again. good thing I did not shower after the last time
01:47:51 <electrohead> lol
01:48:51 <rust1> I am looking at maps again. I have a thing for doing that
01:48:59 <electrohead> yet another keyboard project I stumbled upon - https://hackaday.com/2022/08/02/the-rollercoaster-of-developing-the-ultimate-hackable-keyboard/

01:49:08 <electrohead> rust1: maps for what?
01:49:29 <rust1> just maps. today, it is google maps.
01:51:59 <rust1> that is almost the sort of keyboard I want. sort of like a laptop keyboard, just with an usb.
01:52:22 <rust1> it needs to be a bit more armoured than that, but
01:52:30 <electrohead> have you heard of qmk?
01:52:43 <rust1> not that I can remember

02:01:39 <rust1> someone should make a case with an adapter for old stinkpad keyboards. and dogs that do not try to look dead
02:06:50 <rust1> fox tossing... that is a sport that should be on tv
02:19:15 <electrohead> fox tossing?
02:19:17 <electrohead> lol
02:20:59 <rust1> yep. they had 2 lines of people, holding each end of ... say it was a tarp, or something. then they would release a fox, so it would run over the tarp, then they would yank on the tarp, and see how far they could launch it into the air
02:21:26 <rust1> it was apparently a big thing, in the 1600s
02:21:46 <electrohead> that's fucked up, but .. funny at the same time
02:21:53 <rust1> yes

03:42:57 <Nothing> the hell?
03:43:01 <Nothing> how'd my keyboard get changed
03:43:23 <Nothing> i don't do that unless i'm playing a game that doesn't support dvorak because remapping every damn key for a game is a bitch
03:44:33 <Nothing> lol there was one game where it had a "dvorak" setting for the keyboard which apparently turns your qwerty layout into dvorak just in the game. But it implies it fixes the keymap to work with a dvorak layout, which it most certain does not.
03:45:38 <Nothing> i've heard about some keyboard "maps" or typing systems that are like stenography where you only use maybe 8 keys but you use "chords" or combinations of keys in lieu of single key presses
03:46:01 <Nothing> although stenography goes a step further where each chord corresponds to an entire syllable
03:46:23 <Nothing> i tried to learn it once thinking it would be just like learning dvorak and holy crap it is not intuitive or easy at all.
03:47:16 <Nothing> hahaha omg i just remembered having a dream last night about that amateur radio station i keep picking up on my headphones on my Switch
03:48:57 <Nothing> man i wish so much i could figure out what frequency that is but i don't even know what's picking it up, much less how it's tuned. I just know it's so touchy that just replacing the headphones loses the signal so the fact that it's perfectly tuned to a frequency somebody a block from here is broadcasting on, just purely by chance, is a hell of a coincidence.
03:49:16 <Nothing> i'm still tempted to knock on his door and let him know i'm picking up his station
03:50:00 <Nothing> lol i bet if i soldered like a 10pf cap between my headphones and the extension cord it'd detune the circuit
03:50:42 <Nothing> i guess what i COULD do is strip a section of cord on my headphones and i could probe it with that
03:50:58 <Nothing> maybe even send the signal through to a buffered push/pull amp
03:51:31 <Nothing> or just a simple non-inverting op amp... amp
03:52:08 <Nothing> i already have a pair of matched power BJTs mounted on a hefty sized heatsink so i'm just dying to find a use for them lol
03:52:29 <Nothing> but this is probably overkill for 2500 watt bjts
03:52:47 <rust1> hmm?
03:53:13 <Nothing> yes, indeed
03:53:15 <Nothing> hmm
03:53:28 <Nothing> rust1, i'm pleased to report that after a nap and another poop i'm no longer in pain
03:53:34 <rust1> what bjts have you found? and, I guess you could maybe get something out of an opamp
03:53:35 <Nothing> but holy crap man, i was in a bad way earlier
03:53:46 <rust1> oh, painless is better
03:53:47 <Nothing> i didn't mention it because the pain wasn't unbearable. But ugh.
03:53:52 <Nothing> definitely
03:54:02 <Nothing> especially when you're in pain on literally a daily basis for almost a year
03:54:39 <rust1> so, I want to know what bjts you have on a heat sink, lol
03:54:42 <Nothing> but at least i've FINALLY found some patterns in it and figured out a few things i can do to help at least mitigate it.
03:54:55 <Nothing> so i've cut it back from being almost constant to just being 6-8 hours a day
03:55:01 <rust1> I like things on heat sinks
03:55:09 <Nothing> rust1, lol ones i took out of a stereo amplifier
03:55:21 <Nothing> they're not 2500 watt though, it's just 250
03:55:23 <Nothing> but still
03:55:39 <Nothing> https://www.onsemi.com/pdf/datasheet/mj15003-d.pdf
03:55:42 <rust1> is it some japanese model number ones?
03:55:47 <rust1> oh, ok
03:55:53 <Nothing> yeah mj i think is motorola
03:56:14 <Nothing> heh somewhere i've got a databook of motorola's ECL line of chips
03:56:16 <rust1> those are pretty chunky
03:56:34 <Nothing> that is, emitter coupled logic. Which is a weird logic family that uses diff pairs for the input stage
03:56:54 <Nothing> apparently they used such logic in the flight computer for the space shuttle
03:57:08 <Nothing> and i noticed some 54F chips on the board
03:57:19 <Nothing> which F is apparently Fast... bjt something
03:57:36 <rust1> I think you should try to use an opamp, and see if that does not disturb your radio too much
03:58:01 <Nothing> it's funny how the machines they make are cutting edge, but because of necessary rad hardening, the computer technology is always about 20 years behind and can't use CMOS.
03:58:34 <Nothing> rust1, yeah i was gonna buffer it through an op amp
03:58:37 <Nothing> at least, that's the plan
03:58:42 <Nothing> but i don't want to destroy my headphones
03:58:59 <Nothing> they're good headphones and they're the longest lasting pair i've ever had.
03:59:24 <Nothing> every pair i've ever had ended up dead within a year. But I've had these for almost 10 years now and they still work perfect.
03:59:30 <rust1> so, does it still radio, if you put an extension on it?
03:59:36 <Nothing> nope
03:59:43 <Nothing> well it already has an extension
03:59:49 <Nothing> but that's a good idea
03:59:56 <Nothing> i didn't think the extension cord is expendible
04:00:27 <Nothing> mainly because my old extension cord died (wire broke inside the insulation :/) and it took me forever to find a brick and mortar shop that sold them.
04:00:41 <Nothing> I remember just 10 years ago i could find them in any dollar store i went to. I dunno what happened.
04:01:03 <Nothing> ever since i moved it seems i can never find what i need/want at the store. And if I do, it's not there the next time.
04:01:19 <Nothing> or if I find a type of food I like, they stop making it a couple months later.
04:01:48 <Nothing> man i really DO have ADD don't I? Just looking at how many subjects I just jumped between in the span of about a minute
04:02:09 <rust1> probably, or some other thing, who knows?
04:02:12 <Nothing> or some sort of clinically significantly short attention span
04:03:04 <Nothing> rust1, yeah it's just a label as far as i'm concerned and doesn't change anything.
04:03:19 <Nothing> that's why i've never been too worried about getting an accurate diagnosis
04:03:41 <Nothing> i've got my anxiety and drug addiction diagnoses, those are pretty cut and dry. But even those don't matter.
04:03:53 <rust1> I am still wondering if I should. if nothing else, I would have a couple day off from work, lol
04:03:54 <Nothing> I mean what's it change? It's not like it makes it so he can give me a pill to make it better.
04:04:11 <Nothing> if you should what?
04:04:18 <Nothing> take a vacation?
04:04:29 <rust1> get my brain drilled. i mean, get diagnosed
04:04:35 <rust1> I am on vacation
04:04:37 <Nothing> oh heh
04:04:49 <Nothing> well, it wouldn't hurt anything as long as you don't take it seriously.
04:04:56 <Nothing> i didn't know you had issues of that nature though.
04:05:12 <Nothing> but i guess we're good at hiding it.
04:05:17 <rust1> they asked, when kid #3 had her diag work done, but I was not sure
04:05:42 <Nothing> rust1, actually in that vein, it would definitely be beneficial if your children are having issues of that sort
04:06:04 <Nothing> if you can get an (ACCURATE) diagnosis, it can potentially (key word) lead them on the right path for your kids
04:06:14 <Nothing> or it might make them go down the wrong path and focus on the wrong thing
04:06:37 <Nothing> like i'd always been told my dad was bipolar growing up, so that's what i told my shrinks, so that's what i was always diagnosed with.
04:06:45 <Nothing> Then my dad tells me he's never been bipolar.
04:06:46 <rust1> why? they have it, me knowing that i have it does not change anything. I have gooten used to living with me, so... i am just not sure if it is worth it
04:07:01 <Nothing> rust1, because genetics
04:07:12 <rust1> the genetics are already there
04:07:20 <Nothing> but on the other hand, you don't need a label to tell you you're screwed in the head
04:07:27 <Nothing> it's pretty easy to figure that out
04:07:30 <Nothing> well
04:07:32 <rust1> no, I know that much
04:07:35 <Nothing> depends on the condition
04:07:54 <Nothing> the ones where you have no insight into the fact that you're hallucinating or delusional are just scary
04:08:01 <Nothing> losing control to that degree
04:08:27 <Nothing> and waking up in a white room tied to a bed with no memory of how or why you're there is no bueno
04:08:43 <rust1> nah, I just can not focus on things. that is pretty much it. and I like saying exactly what i think, without thinking about it. which is fun too
04:09:21 <Nothing> "NUUUURRRSE NUURRRRRSE NUURRRRRRRRRSE!" "WHAT?!" "Why am I strapped to this bed?" "because you won't stop screaming at us" "I won't stop screaming at you because I have no idea why i'm strapped to a bed"
04:09:45 <Nothing> rust1, that's my coping mechanism too
04:09:57 <Nothing> ignore it, pretend it isn't happening or didn't happen
04:10:11 <Nothing> at the very least, it doesn't add any "psychic fuel" to the fire so to speak
04:10:33 <Nothing> that is, by thinking about and obsessing over a problem you make it seem worse
04:10:55 <rust1> I am not doing that. I just have not been diagnosed. I am not making a thing out of it. and i am used to being me, so it is not too bad
04:11:01 <Nothing> whereas if you just sort of acknowledge it and deal with it if you can without thinking about it too much, it's not as big a deal. Make sense?
04:11:17 <Nothing> rust1, no i know i just meant in terms of not focusing on it
04:11:37 <rust1> I can not focus on anything, how would I do that?
04:11:43 <Nothing> i dunno how it works in norway but the system's shit here in terms of how it works
04:11:58 <Nothing> healthcare doesn't pay for any sort of "talking" therapy
04:12:18 <Nothing> so all you get is a psychiatrist, who despite what you see on TV, his only job is to prescribe medications, that's it.
04:12:51 <Nothing> and as he so realistically put it, there's no magic pill he can give me to make all of my problems disappear. So that's a big reason I'm not worried about getting a diagnosis.
04:12:51 <rust1> nah, we have a pretty ok system for this. just my opinion
04:13:03 <Nothing> clinically, a diagnosis is only useful if you can treat it.
04:13:07 <Nothing> at least in this case
04:13:21 <Nothing> if i'm diagnosed with say, borderline what can i do?
04:13:23 <Nothing> what's it change?
04:13:25 <Nothing> nothing
04:13:43 <rust1> well, knowing what your issues can be, can be good to know about.
04:13:58 <Nothing> i'm still the same person i always was. I'm still just as impotent in the face of my problems as i ever was. So why expend so much time and energy on it? you know?
04:14:15 <Nothing> rust1, that's true as well. Just knowing can certainly bring peace of mind. good point.
04:14:25 <rust1> if you are aware of it, maybe you can see what is happening, if it does, so you do not have to worry about that thing happening
04:14:40 <Nothing> I know there have been times where I've literally wished I was schizophrenic or something just so I would know for certain what was wrong with me
04:14:43 <Nothing> "wrong"
04:15:01 <Nothing> or hell for all i know, i'm on thta spectrum
04:15:09 <Nothing> which schizophrenia is a spectrum disorder
04:15:48 <Nothing> rust1, yeah but the worst situation at least imo is when you ARE aware of it but you're powerless to do anything about it
04:16:00 <Nothing> i do things like that sooooo much. Especially with my addictions.
04:16:34 <Nothing> but yeah, they say knowing is the first step. And although that's in the context of addiction, it applies to just about everything in life.
04:16:48 <Nothing> or if you're a fan of GI Joe "knowing is half the battle"
04:17:00 <Nothing> if only... I'd say knowing is just the beginning
04:17:20 <Nothing> plus there are some things i'd just rather not know
04:18:39 <Nothing> i'm sure you can relate to being... I guess you'd call it hyperaware. Where you're overly aware of everything and you see things which are wrong and/or bothersome, but you feel like you're the only one who does because (not to denigrade them) everybody is on a lower level of awareness than you are
04:18:51 <Nothing> for lack of a more grounded, less crazy sounding explanation
04:19:12 <Nothing> basically you just see problems everywhere that everybody else seems to be ignorant to
04:20:19 <Nothing> holy crap
04:20:25 <Nothing> 43 degrees outside with the humidity
04:20:47 <Nothing> lol but it's only 28
04:21:27 <Nothing> feels like a damn rainforest lately with this humidity though. It's the sort of weather where you're wet and sticky constantly either from sweat, or moisture in the air, or both. And neither evaporates to save its life.
04:22:46 <Nothing> hey i was just thinking
04:23:07 <Nothing> aren't things like The Count on Sesame Street, or Count Chocula racist?
04:23:28 <Nothing> they're like, stereotypes of gyppos
04:23:43 <Nothing> also lol @ hexchat not highlighting gyppo as a misspelled word
04:25:09 <Nothing> bored
04:25:22 <Nothing> guess i'll farm more of this stupid item in final fantasy
04:25:32 <Nothing> or maybe i should finally just finish it and move on to new game+

04:55:30 <Nothing> when you say it was nothing i know you mean the word
04:55:51 <Nothing> where if you say it was nothing\, even without capitalizing my name i know you're talking about me
05:00:06 <rust1> hmm, this glue is called rapid. it also says it takes 24 hours/mm to set. I wonder what their non-rapid version needs
05:01:41 <rust1> ohwell, i will use my metal hot glue. that sets up very quickly

05:29:03 Nick: Not_Something\ is now known as Nothing\
05:29:12 <Nothing\> stupid internet
05:29:20 <rust1> hello!
05:29:23 <Nothing\> i was just thinking, i should make a BCD clock
05:29:52 <Nothing\> i've always wanted one and i think making a clock would be pretty easy. Even without using mains frequency as a reference, I have a ton of unused crystals
05:30:39 <rust1> hmm? binary clock?
05:31:17 <Nothing\> and i made sure to buy 10 of every frequency they had, which I think was like that 32.768khz or whatever it is, not sure what's up with the oddly specific power of 2 frequency. But the rest are like 1Mhz to 50 or so
05:31:30 <Nothing\> rust1, yeah a clock with a binary coded decimal display
05:31:40 <rust1> okay
05:31:53 <Nothing\> they're fun little esoteric nerd toys
05:32:03 <rust1> certainly nerdy
05:32:49 <Nothing\> there's really no advantage to using them. The display isn't any smaller as you still require 1 byte for each minute and second, and still 2 digits for the hour
05:32:49 <rust1> remember to use ultra bright blue leds, and keep them close together, so they are impossible to read
05:33:00 <Nothing\> rust1, i LOATHE blue LEDs
05:33:22 <rust1> they are ok. if used for things where you need a blue led
05:33:25 <Nothing\> i've actually taped pieces of card over every blue LED in my house because they literally blind me at night
05:33:38 <Nothing\> i catch a glimpse of one and BOOM there goes my night vision for the next 5 minutes
05:34:04 <Nothing\> and they have this strange look to them, like they're not entirely all the way "there"
05:34:17 <Nothing\> like they exist half in this reality and half outside of it
05:34:19 <rust1> I had to replace the onne in the wifes tv, with a red one, and a big resistor.
05:34:30 <rust1> they do.
05:34:55 <Nothing\> lol i guess when it comes to quantum phenomena that's true
05:35:01 <rust1> she was not very happy about that. but I wanted to sleep
05:35:08 <Nothing\> lol
05:35:11 <Nothing\> that's not a bad idea
05:35:30 <Nothing\> i've heard of people removing the piezo buzzer from their microwave to make it "night time friendly"
05:35:41 <Nothing\> frankly I'd just wire it to a toggle switch.
05:35:55 <rust1> it only says the tv is plugged in, and ready. it does not have to be supr bright, or blue
05:36:08 <Nothing\> cut a little hole for the switch in the panel of the thing and stick it out through there
05:36:25 <rust1> I have never had a microwave with a buzzer
05:36:30 <Nothing\> rust1, i'm lucky my TV's "i'm plugged in" light is only a tiny red one
05:36:40 <Nothing\> but half of the LEDs in my modem ar eblue
05:36:44 <rust1> so is the wifes, now
05:36:56 <Nothing\> and my computer is covered in RGBs which i haven't bothered figuring out how to disable
05:37:08 <rust1> just unplug them?
05:37:09 <Nothing\> i'm pretty sure there's a switch somewhere or something in the UEFI
05:37:16 <rust1> probably
05:37:20 <Nothing\> no they're built into the PSU
05:37:43 <rust1> oh. damn gamers
05:37:49 <Nothing\> yeah i know
05:38:04 <Nothing\> they put more effort into fuckin RGBs in this thing than they did into making it functional
05:38:14 <Nothing\> ie not blocking every expansion port
05:38:16 <rust1> I had to spend almost an hour fixing my mouse. it is ok now.
05:38:45 <Nothing\> i always screw up the clickiness of the scrollwheel when I disassembled a mouse
05:39:05 <rust1> removed all rgb things, removed all the extra switches, and glued the buttons in place
05:39:08 <Nothing\> there's a little spring or something i can never get back in it so the wheel just rolls freely afterwards
05:39:17 <Nothing\> lol
05:39:30 <Nothing\> glued the buttons in place?
05:39:35 <rust1> I hate this stuff.
05:39:36 <rust1> yes
05:39:49 <Nothing\> sounds like it would defeat the purpose of a mouse if you glued the buttons in place
05:39:51 <Nothing\> :P
05:40:10 <rust1> without the switches, you would just pop the buttons inside the case, this thing had buttons all over
05:40:19 <Nothing\> did you put tape over the sensor on the bottom too so it can't spy on your mouse's movements?
05:40:20 <Nothing\> :P
05:40:39 <Nothing\> yeah i figured it was something like that i was just pulling your leg
05:40:44 <Nothing\> twisting your leg?
05:40:50 <Nothing\> doing something to it, anyways
05:40:55 <rust1> good luck
05:41:12 <Nothing\> are you missing a leg now?
05:41:27 <Nothing\> first you're female, now you're a parapalegic
05:41:35 <rust1> I am pretty happy about the quality of my legs. I only broke my foot once, but other than that, they have been very good
05:41:52 <Nothing\> i have a bad habit of breaking toes
05:41:54 <Nothing\> but that's about it
05:42:07 <rust1> toes does not count. that is only annoying
05:42:22 <Nothing\> though i tore a ton of soft tissue, tendons and ligaments by rolling both ankles severely in separate incidents
05:43:02 <rust1> I managed to drop a round baler on my foot. that was non-ideal, and tricky to get off, as I was sort of stuck, lol
05:43:02 <Nothing\> ankles suck like that
05:43:06 <Nothing\> they roll too damn easy
05:43:22 <Nothing\> especially in running shoes
05:43:40 <rust1> I think they made 2 or 3 different model ancles. some are less twisty than others
05:44:00 <Nothing\> it's just a kluge of rocks basically
05:44:10 <rust1> running shoes. I have seen those
05:44:14 <steve30> o/
05:44:45 <rust1> I did get a pair of those in the military, but never used them
05:45:11 <rust1> I also never ran, in the time I was there. so it is fine
05:45:57 <rust1> I think they were nike, but in a weird grey/darker grey color

07:05:12 <Ampera> Well, looks like the washer has shit itself proper
07:05:26 <Ampera> after about 3 days of messing with it, I've come to the conclusion that it has to be the control board
07:05:56 <Ampera> there are even some suspicious shitstain looking spots next to some components, but the real evidence is the pins described by the service manual to have 120VAC while the pump is enabled, do not have 120VAC
07:05:57 <rust_collector> YAY! that is a conclusion
07:06:36 <Ampera> it must be said, even though it's fucked, this washing machine is remarkably nice to work on
07:07:08 <Ampera> full service manual available free online, has a complete service mode with complete input/output tests
07:07:22 <rust_collector> heh, who made that?
07:07:23 <Ampera> can do stuff like individually test/enable water valves, drain pump, et.c
07:07:25 <Ampera> amana
07:08:02 <Ampera> it's 12 years old, which seems like a short lifespan for a washing machine, and this failure mode is kinda stupid
07:08:17 <rust_collector> nah, these days, 12 years is not bad
07:08:33 <Ampera> maybe I'm too used to people who were rocking ancient toploaders pushing 30 years
07:08:53 <Ampera> oh well, at least it's not my washing machine :D

07:09:22 <rust_collector> we still have one, that is from the 70s, we just keep it around, because we know the new one will fail some day
07:09:44 <Ampera> like, if this control board hadn't died, the parts in there look like they'd have been good for a while
07:09:51 <Ampera> probably the worst worn part is the main seal, and that's replaceable
07:09:55 <rust_collector> probably
07:10:01 <Ampera> if anything it's just dirty

20:53:42 <Ampera> I need to watch the rest of the original series for fist of the north star
20:53:51 <Ampera> it's a good show, just not something that I want to watch all that often
20:54:00 <Ampera> it's as boiled down 80's action as you can get
20:59:19 Join: jackbrown ([email protected]) to #EEVblog
21:01:42 <jackbrown> hello
21:01:44 <jackbrown> anyone here
21:01:54 <jackbrown> what about the besta Lithium batteris for a solar system?
21:02:26 <Ampera> everyone is sleeping, go back to bed
21:02:38 <jackbrown> I'm in Italy here is 13:00 day
21:02:43 <jackbrown> Ampera: where are you from?
21:02:46 <Ampera> obviously italy's clock is wrong
21:02:56 <rust1> up here, it is 1.02
21:02:58 <Ampera> I am from new york
21:03:11 <jackbrown> Ampera: no it's not, sun is shining and it's fucking hot as hell here! (around 37 °C)
21:03:21 <Ampera> what's a C
21:03:34 <jackbrown> Ampera: Celsius degrees we don't use Farenheit
21:03:35 <rust1> it is similar to awk, just much more
21:03:47 <jackbrown> Do you guys talk about solar system here ?
21:04:11 <jackbrown> I'm looking for the Sunny Island SMA system that is basically a battery charger and is capable of handle AC and DC current
21:04:32 <Ampera> wait around for MrMobodies to be around
21:04:47 <Ampera> afaik he's the last person around here to pray to the mighty sun gods
21:05:30 <jackbrown> Ampera: thanks
21:05:50 <Ampera> you can also try the forums, this channel is more of a discussion thing
21:05:57 <Ampera> the last time were on topic was
21:05:58 <Ampera> uh
21:06:00 <Ampera> >.>
21:06:26 <rust1> not sure, I have disabled the topic bar thing
21:06:48 <Ampera> it just says we're the Official IRC channel of the EEVBlog
21:06:52 <Ampera> which is a lot like baseball
21:07:00 <Ampera> we're the official vacuum cleaner brand of the new york red sox
21:07:20 <Ampera> idk why I'm bothering to make a baseball joke, I'm the only one who'd even get it :P
21:08:06 <jackbrown> Ampera: thanks but the forum are "slow"
21:08:14 <Ampera> IRC is slower
21:08:21 <rust1> the irc is worse, don't worry
21:08:39 <Ampera> we're all slow here
21:08:44 <rust1> but, if you are waiting for the sun, you have plenty of time
21:08:48 <jackbrown> Ampera: doesn't seem so
21:09:05 <jackbrown> rust1: I don't need sun to have infos
21:09:10 <Ampera> especially jaymax, he's canadian so they think that he's slow, eh?
21:09:25 <jackbrown> for example which is the best technology for Li battery in your opinion ?
21:09:32 <Ampera> what is best
21:09:46 <Ampera> price? capacity? peak discharge? tendency to explode?
21:09:54 <rust1> I have no comment about that.
21:10:06 <Ampera> for solar systems there's still some argument to be made about deep cycle lead acid
21:10:14 <Ampera> all depends on what you can find, and how homemade you're going
21:12:00 <Ampera> I wonder if anyone's done NiMH for solar
21:12:00 <rust1> I think someone should invent an ac battery. that would be good
21:12:11 <Ampera> rust1, just shake a lead acid a lot
21:12:12 <Ampera> you'll get AC
21:12:13 <jackbrown> Ok let's say that the Sunny Island from SMA is basically a battery charger and accept, from the DC side, batteries 48V and 100Ah minimum till 10.000h
21:12:32 <jackbrown> It runs with Lead acid (all type) and various approved Lithium battery pack
21:12:42 <rust1> many have used nimh for solar, but probably just for garden lights and small systems
21:12:49 <jackbrown> Ampera: rust1 if I give you the approved list of batteries can you take a look ?
21:12:58 <Ampera> The advantage of lead acid, is not only is it cheap, but it's also less dangerous
21:13:14 <Ampera> so if blowing yourself up concerns you, I'd stick to lead acid, and keep in mind they do still leak hydrogen when charging
21:13:28 <rust1> I have no idea about batteries. sorry
21:13:34 <Ampera> I don't either
21:13:37 <Ampera> I make this shit up as I go along
21:14:04 <jackbrown> Ampera: but lead acid you cannot discharge more than 50% to keep them in good healt (at least about what i heard and what the Sunny Island does since it care first of all of the battery health)
21:14:18 <rust1> Ithin klead acis is more likely to blow up than lithium, but those catch fire much more
21:14:25 <Ampera> ^
21:14:28 <Ampera> that's mostly what I mean
21:14:38 <Ampera> if you can vent hydrogen and keep it away from sparks, it's probably okay
21:14:42 <jackbrown> anyway here is the Sunny Island https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5354537ce4b0e65f5c20d562/t/5b279298758d468433092a31/1529320092855/SMA+Sunny+Island+SI_6H_8H-DEN1642-V21+datasheet.pdf
21:14:44 <rust1> so, keep them at more than 50%
21:15:26 <Ampera> you can also look into LifePO4
21:15:33 <Ampera> no clue if that controller can charge them
21:15:43 <jackbrown> rust1: yeah that means that If I install a 100kWh battery bank I have to think as I got a 50kWh
21:15:45 <Ampera> but they're a bit less burny than liion, and less explodey than lead acid
21:16:13 <Ampera> 50kWh is still a lot
21:16:23 <jackbrown> Ampera: those batteries LiFePO4 are the ones suggested https://www.vpsolar.com/download/catalog/Storage/BYD/Premium-LVL/Battery-Box%20Premium%20LVL_Datasheet_LVL_IT.pdf
21:16:24 <rust1> well, that is how that would work
21:16:26 <Ampera> you could easily run an average house all day on that
21:16:31 <rust1> do you need more?
21:16:37 <jackbrown> Ampera: (depends of a lot of things )
21:16:58 <Ampera> I'd buy the LiFePO4 pack probably
21:17:16 <Ampera> I mean if it's a properly engineered pack, and you can be reasonably certain it won't explode, then LiIon might be cheaper/capacity
21:17:17 <jackbrown> rust1: we are powering a small building it will have a 33,4kWp PV system
21:17:43 <Ampera> that's a lot of power for a small building
21:17:47 <rust1> a small building... but... how much power do you need,
21:17:48 <Ampera> depending on what you consider small
21:17:50 <jackbrown> Anyway I love the Sunny Island because basically you can plug almost everything DC 48V to it and it's an Open System compared to the other
21:18:06 <rust1> worst case, buy 2
21:18:07 <jackbrown> rust1: it need power for Heat pump (cool and warm) electric car recharging etc. etc.
21:18:21 <Ampera> I wonder how cheap larger scale NiMH cells are, actually. I can think of reasons why you might want to use that tech in an application where weight/size isn't an important factor
21:18:24 <rust1> yes, so... do you need more than 50
21:18:28 <jackbrown> rust1: we will set a three phase system using 3 Sunny Island 8.0H
21:18:56 <Ampera> 50kWh is 2kW whole house draw constantly for 24hrs
21:19:03 <Ampera> just from battery
21:19:03 <jackbrown> rust1: yes I think I do expecially if electric car will be charged
21:19:20 <rust1> yes, but do you charge your car all the time?
21:19:32 <Ampera> I mean get as big of a battery as you want, it's your money
21:19:37 <rust1> there are a lot of stuff this depends on
21:19:39 <jackbrown> Ampera: yes I got but we have an elevator aswell, a water three phase pump that pressurize the whole house, induction cooking
21:19:53 <Ampera> what kind of "small building" has an elevator
21:19:58 <rust1> find an abandoned submarine, thay have massive batteries
21:20:04 <Ampera> haha
21:20:06 <jackbrown> Ampera: we have bonuses in my country currently so basically the government is paying for that stuff
21:20:20 <Ampera> oh well then
21:20:23 <Ampera> buy as many batteries as you can
21:20:27 <jackbrown> rust1: do the submarine has atomic energy generator aswell ?
21:20:39 <rust1> Ampera move to italy, and they will buy you an elevator
21:20:43 <Ampera> jackbrown, yes, but it has a different plug than your house
21:20:43 <rust1> some of them do
21:20:57 <jackbrown> Ampera: ok great, I hope that 33kWp Photovoltaic will be enough (my roof can't support more)
21:21:15 <Ampera> presuming 33kWh is peak potential power, and that you live in sunny Italy
21:21:16 <Ampera> uh
21:21:23 <Ampera> that's enough to completely power a lot of homes
21:21:25 <rust1> I have always wanted a mini nuclear power plant behind the house. that would be nice
21:21:46 <Ampera> rust1, yeah but someone's just gonna go and steal it
21:21:49 <Ampera> so why bother
21:21:51 <jackbrown> Ampera: I'm giving you some data, I already have 10kWp PV system and where I live it produces 14500kWh/year
21:22:24 <Ampera> er
21:22:32 <Ampera> my still waking up brain read your p as an h
21:22:39 <Ampera> and then did other stupid things
21:23:00 <Ampera> have you actually measured your average power consumption?
21:23:12 <Ampera> like, electric meter, at least have a ballpark figure about what you need
21:23:24 <Ampera> and if 33kW is all your roof can support, then that's all your roof can support
21:23:27 <jackbrown> Ampera: honestly I couldn't because till yeasterday we had gas in my house but now will be all electric
21:23:32 <Ampera> that's 33kW more than we have
21:23:53 <Ampera> haha american nat gas wells go brrrr
21:24:02 <jackbrown> sorry?
21:24:06 <rust1> lol
21:24:16 <jackbrown> Ampera: In italy we use Methan, in USA don't ?
21:24:16 <Ampera> apology accepted
21:24:23 <Ampera> we use methane/ethane
21:24:24 <Ampera> nat gas
21:24:39 <jackbrown> Ampera: isn't a gas methane ?
21:24:53 <Ampera> afaik it's typically a blend of methane/ethane
21:25:04 <Ampera> idk, I never tasted it
21:25:06 <jackbrown> Ampera: ok for "gas" you mean gasoline probably
21:25:09 <Ampera> no
21:25:10 <rust1> methane is a gas, but gas does not have to be methane
21:25:15 <Ampera> ^
21:25:24 <jackbrown> Ampera: in italy for "gas" we mean methane or gpl or other
21:25:24 <Ampera> gas means both natural gas (methane/ethane) and gasoline
21:25:44 <Ampera> in the US "gas" means the phase of matter that comes after liquid
21:26:01 <jackbrown> ok Ampera anyway since this electric renew we removed the gas meter and the building will be working ONLY with electricity
21:26:18 <jackbrown> Ampera: ok same here for gas, solid, liquid
21:26:41 <rust1> right
21:26:54 <Ampera> still, you should at least be able to wait a week and figure out roughly how much you use
21:27:10 <Ampera> that way you can at least size a battery to last you however long you think it should
21:27:17 <jackbrown> Ampera: it's hard to say
21:27:23 <Ampera> at the end of the day, money is the real constraint, so if that's not limiting you, go nuts
21:27:31 <Ampera> don't you have electric meters in italy?
21:27:39 <jackbrown> Ampera: anyway I have a 96kWh limit for my house (bonus) i think that i'll be around 90kWh
21:27:58 <Ampera> as in the gov will only pay for 96kWh?
21:27:58 <jackbrown> Ampera: plus the PV system will recharge it so I think I'll be fine
21:28:03 <jackbrown> ONLY ?
21:28:13 <jackbrown> Ampera: it's 48kWh each apartment
21:28:25 <Ampera> that's what I said, that's all the government will pay for?
21:28:41 <jackbrown> Ampera: it's not enough for you ?
21:28:42 <Ampera> damn sight more than what our government will pay for, but if that's what they'll pay for, then get that
21:28:50 <Ampera> no
21:29:02 <Ampera> I am asking you, if that is the maximum that the government will give you money to buy
21:29:09 <jackbrown> Ampera: why not, since during the day the PV system will recharge it
21:29:13 <Ampera> because if it is, and you do not want to spend more money, then buy 96kWh of batteries
21:29:40 <Ampera> like, this seems like a problem that's solving itself
21:30:07 <jackbrown> Ampera: yes it is, it's 48.000€ for each apartment max 1.000€/kWh so each apartment get 48kWh max (misteriosuly the prices of the batteries raises to 1000€/kWh since this bonus is going on
21:30:39 <rust1> most of the systems I deliver use lead acid. I am not sure if that means anythng or not
21:30:42 <Ampera> if your original question was about tech, I'd buy LiFePO4, because if they're paying for the capacity, not the tech, then you'll get the more reliable and less dangerous batteries with LiFePO4
21:31:30 <jackbrown> Ampera: yes I was oriented in LiFePO4 aswell, now I have your confirmation thanks!
21:31:38 <Ampera> >.>
21:32:28 <jackbrown> Ampera: anyway I think that with 96.000 € I Should be able to buy a bigger battery than a 96kWh
21:32:37 <jackbrown> Ampera: what would you buy with that money?
21:32:44 <rust1> oh good. now we can talk about alternative pizza (pizzarandabschneider) toppings
21:33:57 <Ampera> what would I buy with 96 euros?
21:34:01 <jackbrown> Ampera: rust1 at the beginning I was oriented to buy Tesla PowerWall 2, but I have a three phase system and Tesla only offer single Phase backup in case of blackout
21:34:02 <Ampera> idk
21:34:04 <Ampera> pizza
21:34:14 <jackbrown> 96K euro pizza?
21:34:16 <rust1> I have a feeling you will not get 96k euros, if you do not use them for what they are supposed to be used for, so...
21:34:19 <Ampera> you said 96 euros
21:34:41 <jackbrown> rust1: I will, the government says max 48.000€ each apartment max 1000€/kWh
21:34:44 <Ampera> this is a poorly executed joke making fun of the european use of the period as comma separator
21:34:59 <jackbrown> Ampera: it's 96000 Euros (almost 100k€)
21:35:00 <Ampera> in the anglosphere, it's typically 96,000, not 96.000
21:35:07 <rust1> yes, they say MAX, which also means maybe less
21:35:12 <jackbrown> Ampera: sorry my bad!
21:35:13 <Ampera> 96.000 == 96 with 3 decimal places of precision
21:35:15 <Ampera> lol
21:35:23 <Ampera> with 96 grand?
21:35:27 <Ampera> fuck I'd buy a shit ton of batteries
21:35:37 <jackbrown> rust1: yes but who is selling now in Italy, misteriously, is selling at 1000€/kWh e
21:35:38 <Ampera> idk what I'd buy
21:35:42 <Ampera> but goddamn
21:35:57 <jackbrown> Ampera: do you know BYD company ?
21:36:01 <Ampera> no
21:36:12 <rust1> they make buses and vans in china
21:36:19 <jackbrown> Ampera: can you check, do you want the link to their approved battery for my system?
21:36:34 <jackbrown> https://www.vpsolar.com/download/catalog/Storage/BYD/Premium-LVL/Battery-Box%20Premium%20LVL_Datasheet_LVL_IT.pdf here it is
21:36:35 <Ampera> man, no wonder italy is having problems if they're giving out 50 grand to everyone who asks
21:36:48 <rust1> byd is sort of big on electric car things
21:36:54 <jackbrown> Ampera: it's not that simple, you don't just ASK and they give you
21:36:57 <Ampera> I can't read italian, and why ask me if I wanted to see the link if you were going to give it to me anyways
21:37:06 <jackbrown> Ampera: it's in english
21:37:12 <jackbrown> Ampera: wait
21:37:17 <jackbrown> Ampera: wrong link
21:37:35 <Ampera> I'm half asleep, but I think I know what italian looks like
21:37:36 <Ampera> maybe
21:37:38 <jackbrown> Ampera: https://www.rpc.com.au/pdf/BYD_premium_15.4_datasheet.pdf
21:38:04 <Ampera> looks good enough
21:38:09 <Ampera> 10 year warranty is something I guess
21:38:25 <Ampera> I don't know what the italian battery market is like, so I can't tell you if this is good or bad
21:38:32 <Ampera> but if you like it, then I'll be happy for you I guess
21:38:52 <jackbrown> this is the approved battery list for the Sunny Island system
21:38:53 <jackbrown> https://www.europe-solarstore.com/download/sma/List-of-Approved-Batteries-in-Sunny-Island-systems.pdf
21:39:02 <jackbrown> Is there any of them you already know?
21:39:13 <Ampera> AAA makes good car batteries
21:39:19 <Ampera> Tenergy has good NiMH AA's
21:39:27 <Ampera> that's about as much as I can give you for batteries
21:39:42 <jackbrown> AAA ? where is
21:39:49 <jackbrown> ok
21:39:50 <Ampera> the American Automotive Association
21:39:52 <jackbrown> thanks anyway
21:39:58 <Ampera> you dial a number and they jump you
21:40:14 <jackbrown> not in Italy I suppose
21:40:21 <Ampera> little italy maybe
21:40:23 <rust1> they should do wireless jumpstarts
21:40:33 <jackbrown> lol
21:40:38 <Ampera> rust1, that sounds dangerous, better have a wireless esd strap while you do it
21:40:47 <rust1> yep
21:40:57 <Ampera> my car can do wireless jumpstarts actually
21:41:04 <Ampera> it's called pushing it down a hill and dropping the clutch
21:41:29 <Ampera> this is a feature most cars in the US do not have, so I feel special
21:41:31 <jackbrown> Ampera: yeah but it need 2 person one behind the wheel and the other pushing
21:41:48 <Ampera> jackbrown, flintstones it out the door
21:42:09 <Ampera> my car is actually light enough that I can get it moving just by rocking in my seat
21:42:11 <rust1> one time, we managed to get a plymouth superbird with a 727 started by pushing it
21:42:30 <jackbrown> lol
21:42:32 <Ampera> or maybe I'm just heavy enough to do that
21:42:34 <rust1> it shoudl not work, but it did
21:42:42 <jackbrown> BRB
21:42:56 <rust1> no rush
21:43:15 <Ampera> we'll be here all day
21:43:17 <Ampera> or something
21:43:26 <rust1> more or less maybe
21:43:27 <Ampera> we can talk shit for hours
21:44:27 <rust1> that happens
21:45:20 <Ampera> I'm waiting for the second person to come into the office and turn the lights on
21:45:23 <Ampera> so I can maybe wake up
21:45:41 <Ampera> being in a different part of the building can be nice
21:45:45 <rust1> meh, why bother?
21:45:50 <Ampera> the people down here don't fight over if the light should be on or off
21:46:46 Quit: jackbrown ([email protected]) Ping timeout: 121 seconds
21:47:25 <rust1> that would be entertaining. an office full of people fighting
21:47:46 <Ampera> and the liiights would fliiicker oooon and oooofff
21:48:30 <rust1> TEKNO! TEKNO! bring glowsticks, and dance
21:49:01 <Ampera> dts dts dts dts dts dts
21:49:13 <Ampera> get some dnb going

21:52:47 <petrIII> you be my pizza for me yes?
21:53:27 <Ampera> I have a feeling
21:53:27 <petrIII> i have water toilet, very good
21:53:31 <Ampera> that you are not who you say to be
21:53:38 <petrIII> yes yes
21:53:48 <Ampera> I have a feeling you are the ruster
21:53:52 <Ampera> and that you need a hug
21:53:55 * Ampera hugs petrIII
21:53:58 <petrIII> awwww
21:54:00 <Ampera> <3
21:54:02 <Ampera> mwah
21:54:45 <petrIII> now you need banya, or swim in river
21:55:52 <petrIII> electrohead always throw beer on my body
21:56:13 <Ampera> hrm
21:56:18 <Ampera> looks like camera support for the SP8 is on the way
21:56:30 <Ampera> maybe I should think about deleting windows 11 and using a real operating system on it
21:56:30 <petrIII> sp8?
21:56:37 <Ampera> surface pro 8
21:56:39 <Ampera> my new tablet thingy
21:56:44 <petrIII> oh
21:57:41 <petrIII> do they use ssds or something, that you can replace?
21:58:37 <Ampera> yes actually
21:58:48 <Ampera> windows 11 just doesn't run most of my software well
21:58:54 <Ampera> it can do linux graphical apps, but the support is pretty meh
21:59:17 <Ampera> ech, I'll think about it much later

22:01:23 <Ampera> everything but the camera apparently works
22:01:36 <rust1> mmhf
22:03:46 <rust1> eh, just live without the camera
22:04:10 <Ampera> I probably can

22:29:12 <rust1> oof, stuff...
22:29:27 <electrohead> stuff and things.
22:29:31 <electrohead> lol, hey

22:44:52 <LordGeir> Afternoon all :)
22:45:04 * LordGeir went on a rampage
22:45:39 * rust1 looks that up in the news
22:46:22 <Ampera> hello LordGeir
22:46:25 <Ampera> who did you murder
22:46:28 <Ampera> and how
22:47:39 <LordGeir> I used my cunning wit and annihilated the old UPS batteries, they'd make good target practice if it wasn't for the lead and acid
22:48:11 <Ampera> eh, what's another ecological disaster when you have companies like bayer/monsanto
22:48:19 <rust1> do you have many goats or sheep around?
22:49:16 <LordGeir> Ampera: True! I mean, my two small 12V batteries wouldn't make a dent the size of a grain of sand in the bigger picture
22:49:39 <rust1> what is it with people and batteries today?
22:49:44 <LordGeir> rust1: My neighbor has bot sheep and gots I think.. I only have chickens
22:50:18 <rust1> ok. they like licking battery insides, and it is not really healthy for them
22:51:33 <rust1> or, that is what "they" want you to think
22:51:37 <rust1> i do not know.
23:01:41 <rust1> blah, I think I have to do something again

23:54:31 <T3sl4> the juxtaposition of rob halford with the lyrics gives this a strong nb/pansexual vibe too
