08:08:41 <rust_collector> aww
08:08:56 <rust_collector> well, it was fun for a bit
08:40:40 <MrMobodies> Burping and farting a lot and I smell egg
08:40:56 <MrMobodies> with pain in my stomach
08:41:18 <MrMobodies> I had 3 eggs a few days ago that I mixed in mayonnaise
08:41:30 <MrMobodies> I suspect it could be food poisoning
08:42:14 <MrMobodies> if I move around now I can burp a lot better
09:38:21 <rust_collector> moving is always good, unless something is physically broken
09:46:33 <MrMobodies> pressured built up on my lower side, so had sleep on the floor but as I got up, I pood myself and had to shower everything
09:46:42 <MrMobodies> but feel a lot bettr now
09:47:03 <MrMobodies> I just hope it does't return
09:47:09 <rust_collector> not moving, makes...stuff not move, I guess
09:47:24 <rust_collector> even if it might feel better
09:49:51 <MrMobodies> I did feel a lot of moving and noise from my stomach
09:50:05 <MrMobodies> especially when I moved sides lying around the ground
09:50:25 <MrMobodies> so that helped to get rid of this thing
10:28:06 <rust_collector> maybe go on a vacation to some cheap area in india, and get your stomach flushed out, from the great street food, that they might have found on the street
10:40:26 <arch> DHess_US, rust_collector not sure if i ruined the intake valve. so the factory calls for 7 thou max. i ground off a bit too much and it's at somewhere between 9 thou and 10 thou. the exhaust, i got spot on--because of the experience from the intake valve
10:40:41 <arch> the valve stem* ground it off a bit too much, for the intake side
10:41:55 <rust_collector> eh, it will just make a little ticking sound. you can either lap the thing until it closes the gap a bit, or... just run it
10:42:50 <arch> don't think i'll even hear the ticking sound lol. these old flathead engines are so loud. but as long as it doesn't damage it, i dont really care about a bit more noise
10:42:59 <rust_collector> as I said the other day, more gap is better than not enough. yes, it will wear a little bit quicker, and make some sounds, but...
10:43:20 <rust_collector> it is probably ok
10:43:26 <arch> cool. so that takes care of my first valve lapping job and valve stem grind job \o/
10:44:28 <rust_collector> you can lap it very aggressively, to get the valve deeper in the seat, which makes the gap less. but I would probably just run it
10:45:36 <arch> meh it's ok. if it acts up (backfire or whatever), i'll order a replacement intake valve. it's part of the learning process, plus now i know to take it even easier than i already was going for future projects
10:46:05 <arch> thank goodness there's hundreds of thousands (millions?) of briggs flathead engines around lol
10:46:12 <rust_collector> it wont backfire because of this
10:46:28 <rust_collector> it might whatever, I guess
10:48:06 <arch> im seeing many people gap the 8hp briggs, which is what i have, with 10 thou intake gap, so i might be good, unintentionally
10:49:20 <rust_collector> you might lose 0.017hp. and it might wear things a tiny bit quicker, but it will at least not burn the valve or seat
10:49:46 <arch> \o/
10:49:46 <EEVBot> I
10:49:46 <EEVBot> > ]
10:49:51 <rust_collector> so, next time, fuck up on the exhaust side, as that oddly enough runs hotter?
10:50:17 <arch> next time, no fuckups \o/ thanks to this experience
10:50:37 <rust_collector> heh. well... we will see about that
10:50:50 <rust_collector> I hope you find something with an onan engine
10:51:06 <arch> well, spring is coming soon, and my 3.5hp 1985 tecumseh flathead (backup) lawnmower needs a valve job
10:51:17 <rust_collector> not the relative garbage b&s or tecumseh
11:06:34 <flyback> how do yo know it needs a valve job
11:07:31 <flyback> oh I see
11:11:47 <arch> if compression is low, or if it starts from cold and then craps out when warm, and some other reasons
11:12:21 <arch> it's also a maintenance item you should adjust after a while of running your mower or generator
12:10:32 <DHess_US> arch, there isn't that much adjustment?
12:13:27 <DHess_US> Grind the valve seat down to make up for it.
12:23:52 <arch> i think i'll leave it as is and see what happens. if it is hard to start, ill grind down the seat some
12:24:15 <arch> anyway, the more important thing i wanted to get with this task is to gain experience so i wont mess up on future runs
13:48:34 <Halcyon> Afternoon all

19:47:11 <MrMobodies> Hello
19:47:17 <MrMobodies> Feeling lot better
19:47:34 <MrMobodies> 6 diahree in one night
19:47:51 <MrMobodies> and all I can smell is egg
19:48:10 <MrMobodies> I am not sure whether it is a stomach bug or food poisoning
19:48:50 <Kuschelpony> Hello, and best wishes for recovery
19:49:57 <MrMobodies> thanks
19:50:20 <MrMobodies> I don't think I had anything like that before.

23:13:41 <Kuschelpony> modern search engines suck, im explicitly searching for water kettles with 120W and all they list are water kettles with 1200W
23:19:00 <MrMobodies> I noticed that sometimes even when using quotes

23:19:34 <MrMobodies> This end of life, and self suicide stuff.
23:20:53 <MrMobodies> Car exhaust pipe/boiler exhuast for carbon monoxide poisoning or even helium gas or maybe it is easier said than done.
23:21:48 <MrMobodies> or maybe those people are not in the position or strength to carry out those things especially if they are weak and looked after in a nursing home
