20:04:49 <Ampera> *match
20:04:49 <Ampera> the name/gender in my US passport and the name/gender in my DE passport are different
20:04:49 <rust_collector> maybe you could in theory be in 2 different places
20:04:49 <Ampera> ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
20:04:49 <Ampera> if all goes as planned, I'll be able to just go back another time and get a passport with the correct information
20:04:49 <rust_collector> you can do that at the consulate, right?
20:04:49 <Ampera> yes
20:04:49 <Ampera> (I hope)
20:04:49 <rust_collector> probably can
20:04:49 <Ampera> to the best of my knowledge there is no reason I couldn't
20:04:49 <Ampera> but I am sure the german government is capable of coming up with a reason
20:04:49 <rust_collector> as long as you ship yourself in a box to germany, using their internal postal system
20:04:49 <Ampera> basically
20:04:49 <rust_collector> well, at least something is happening, even if it takes ages
20:04:49 <Ampera> rust_collector, I'm not really in any hurry
20:04:49 <Ampera> the only sort of cool thing that I get, is that if germany decides to reinstate subscription, then I believe a few months after I change everything, I will be considered a woman for those purposes
20:04:49 <Ampera> so they wouldn't be able to conscript me unless it was co-ed
20:04:49 <rust_collector> ok, but it would be ok to just get that done, and do something else?
20:04:49 <rust_collector> heh, that is a thing
20:04:49 <Ampera> my info is already changed in the US and has been for over a year, so it doesn't impact me right now
20:04:49 <rust_collector> hmm, this laptop has a touchscreen. which makes sense, as you can flip it over, and use it as a tablet, I wonder how i should clean that, if I ever touch it. The normal screen cleaner seems to leave stuff.
20:04:49 <rust_collector> I am not very good at cleaning things
20:04:49 <arch> rust_collector, k24 engine. no hydraulic lifters afaik. i do have AllData pirated on windows xp, so i can look up stuff
20:04:49 <rust_collector> I think they did. not super sure. I think I heard about the oil passages to the lifters gunking up, so they do not pump up properly. I think I would check if they are. they have weird lifter buckets, i think
20:04:49 <rust_collector> oh, what is the valve lash supposed to be?
20:04:49 <arch> rust_collector, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBa1eerFtxs

20:04:49 <rust_collector> ah, ok, then have fun adjusting that. it is not bad.
20:04:49 <rust_collector> but keep in mind, that it is always better to have them a tiny bit on the loose side, than too tight

20:04:49 <flyback> <flyback> geoworks on a v286
20:04:49 <arch> rust_collector, got it. thanks for the tip. my valve adjustment strips are coming monday
20:04:49 <*buffextras> [email protected] quit: Quit: Ex-Chat
20:04:49 <MrMobodies> Never heared of that Geoworks before. I remember something very similar worked over dos where you had to quit windows to run it that was distributed in a magazine but could never get it to work and it was short lived. Beos I think it maybe called.
20:04:49 <MrMobodies> Yes it was Beos I remember
20:04:49 <MrMobodies> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BeOS
20:04:49 <EEVBot> [wikipedia] BeOS | "BeOS is a discontinued operating system for personal computers that was developed by Be Inc. It was conceived for the company's BeBox personal computer which was released in 1995. BeOS was designed for multitasking, multithreading, and a graphical user interface. The OS was later sold to OEMs, retail, and directly to users; its last version was released as freeware. Early BeOS releases are for PowerPC. It was ported to Macintosh and […]"
20:04:49 <flyback> no beos was it's own 386+ os from the start
20:04:49 <flyback> there's 100x more os's for 386+
20:04:49 <flyback> geoworks is nice cause at least till recentely it can still be run on 808x/286
20:04:49 <MrMobodies> aaah so that Geoworks could run on a 286
20:04:49 <flyback> 8086 even
20:04:49 <MrMobodies> wow, I have an old Toshiba Portege 70202ct upstairs somewhere I'd like to test that on and see how it performs
20:04:49 <flyback> they abandoned compiling it for < 386 since 1999 but you could still recompile it using the sdk, I have to find out if the latest open source edition code
20:04:49 <flyback> still has 16 bit mode option
20:04:49 <flyback> that's a pentum II, you have a lot more options
20:04:49 <flyback> you can run anythin 386-686 mode os's
20:04:49 <flyback> linux, bsd, etc
20:04:50 <flyback> 32 bit
20:04:50 <MrMobodies> oh yes, it'S Pentium 2 233hz
20:04:50 <flyback> you can also run the latest breadbox/ensemble/geos open source code but you need a supported network card with a dos packet driver
