00:15:55 <K> well, you could get lucky and loft could catch fire
00:18:59 <steve30> I'm pleased to say that after 9 years, my chinese PV inverter hasn't caught fire yet :)

03:08:19 <MrMobodies> Just noticed today when walking to the local shop that the grass is not only yellow but it's disappearing and all I see is dry mud.
03:10:05 <MrMobodies> I remember those from 1996 but could never afford one.
03:11:18 <MrMobodies> I had a Psion XP given to me from my dad in the early 1990's. It was once used to program up fire alarms at Chubbs but they stopped using them and decided to give them away to the engineers.
03:55:19 <Kuschelpony> reading the thread about the forum user requesting a triangle generator using only transistors
03:55:35 <Kuschelpony> if i would have joined the forum, i would ask back how much he pays me for the design

06:23:55 <rc-garage> steve30, if you end up "gluing" your crank. try to twist it, so the glue stuff fills in more on the "rear side" of the splines, when you pedal, so you push the metal bits that are left together, and use the glue stuff to take up the slop on the side with less force on it. even if the glue might be stronger than that metal.

06:41:24 <steve30> thanks
06:43:12 <steve30> don't know quite what i'm going to do yet
06:45:09 <rc-garage> something makes me feel there should be a little shim in there somewhere. probably not ideal, but at this point, nothing is
06:46:25 <steve30> possibly
06:46:40 <steve30> I think there was some kind of shim available as a warranty "repair"

16:48:58 <Halcyon> I saw that. It's looking good
16:49:00 <DogWomble> i knew he had a decent collection, i had no idea he had that much fuckign stuff
16:51:41 <Halcyon> Probably wouldn't be too far off the amount of stuff I have. It's spread between the garage and 3 other rooms. Although I don't have any big box games really.
16:52:47 <DogWomble> i'd like the space for that much stuff
19:43:35 <T3sl4> i haven't LGRed in a while
19:48:05 <DogWomble> yeah he's someone i should watch more of
19:51:32 <K> what is LGR ?

20:01:18 <K> meanwhile, my new wok laptop arrived
20:01:20 <K> yay.
20:01:28 <DogWomble> yay for work laptops :)
20:01:37 <K> work, not wok. old one is wok, at times.
20:01:59 <DogWomble> If you're using your laptop as a wok, you're doing something wrong
20:02:16 <DogWomble> although i do now wonder whether you could stir fry sata cables
20:03:05 <K> stir fried butter-fingies
20:03:29 <DogWomble> stir fry Salad Fingers with some rusty spoons
20:33:26 <T3sl4> my (now very?) old laptop wasn't woking very well
20:34:22 <T3sl4> opened it up, found three blobs of lint trapped inside the fan. bad enough it wouldn't spin under its own power. probably it had spun those over the last couple years
20:34:45 <T3sl4> cleaned the heatsink and fan with brush and alcohol, should be fine for another 10yr
20:38:05 <T3sl4> (first i noticed it wasn't very stable, and was running hot... then i noticed it wasn't whirring)
20:42:44 <K> let it cook!
20:46:22 <T3sl4> nurrr
20:46:27 <T3sl4> it's not a celeron, it can't make an egg
