00:31:37 <stefan> and assuming it's not hiding out here, whoever's got the 20gb 2.5" disk I could do with that back now
00:45:14 <stefan> hah, that flooding at uni I was talking about a day or two ago ash just randomly came up in a search
00:46:05 <stefan> all the links are dead, but
00:46:17 <stefan> >Looks like the page has been taken down. last night there were about
00:46:17 <stefan> >20 photos of the computer science labs. Basically there was water
00:46:17 <stefan> >dripping from the roof, and large pools of water in the power
00:46:17 <stefan> >cabinets.
00:46:17 <stefan> >
00:46:18 <stefan> >For the rest of the list here is what happened...
00:46:20 <stefan> >On friday at about 9:15 workmen broke a mater main near north tce. the
00:46:22 <stefan> >water flowed down hill and into the plaza building ( the location of
00:46:24 <stefan> >computer science, architecture and part of the library). Also this is
00:46:26 <stefan> >where the uni of Adelaide's main server room is.
00:46:28 <stefan> >All of there power went out and the uni staff spent many long hours
00:46:29 <stefan> >getting all there servers back up!
00:46:39 <stefan> and
00:46:40 <stefan> my work has a number of rack units hosted at Adelaide Uni and I managed to get a tour of the affected areas. Considering the amount of damage its amazing how quickly they recovered! I was told at one stage, right before the power was cut, there was water literally gushing out over the racks from above and the lights were happily flickering away as if it was a normal day at the office although a few ru's decided they'd had enough and tried to floa
00:47:18 <stefan> Mon Mar 14, 2005 it seems
00:47:45 <stefan> the photos looked pretty cool though, nice dark passages with the ceiling and attached lights falling down
06:39:31 Quit: Timegrinder ([email protected]) Killed (NickOp (Kill requested by Simulacrum))

09:35:04 <Timegrinder> the 20gb is sitting on carson's desk
10:03:05 <Timegrinder> Carson: Disk's ready for you, just needs to be packed up back into it's box. I'll work out getting it to you later
14:53:23 <stefan> and I did say you could delete the folders that were just for you, but I want Pans.Labyrinth.2006.HDDVD.1080p.x264.DTS-iLL back also
14:53:40 <stefan> it was P* I managed to accidently delete, hence losing pirates & pitch black too
16:13:08 <Carson> sid, when you gave me stefans drive, did it have the usb cable with it?
16:13:48 <stefan> unlikely, but if it did it would have been a short 300m one
16:14:03 <stefan> black A to B
16:14:15 <Carson> there doesn't seem to be one around, so i'm guessing it didn't come with one
16:14:41 <stefan> probably not, he doesn't usually want it
16:15:13 <stefan> but it looks like I'll be pushing to get the disk back to pete this week, so you may have it a little while, we'll see
16:15:18 <stefan> (with everything I was hoping to have on it)
16:42:17 <Timegrinder> um, it did
16:42:24 <Timegrinder> it was still connected to the device when I put it on the bed
16:43:03 <stefan> well I'm cleaning up where it should be here around now anyway, so I'll let you know if I find it
16:43:17 <Timegrinder> er...
16:43:22 <Timegrinder> It had one, it came with one when you brought it over
16:43:32 <Timegrinder> it was with the power cable you provided
16:44:11 <stefan> wait a sec, are we talking the 2.5" or petes?
16:45:58 <Timegrinder> oh, I was talking petes
16:45:59 <Timegrinder> whoops
16:46:02 <Timegrinder> and no, it didn't
16:46:08 <Timegrinder> (stefans)
16:46:18 <Timegrinder> I just brought the disk over on its own
16:46:26 <stefan> petes had 2x figure 8, 1x mini usb, and the power pack
16:46:46 <stefan> my own fig8 because I cbf putting his back together nicely in the box
16:47:07 <Timegrinder> anyway... since he was probably talking about the 2.5, probably nothing to worry about at al
16:47:09 <Timegrinder> l
16:48:33 <stefan> yeah, I'll probably come across it soon
16:48:48 <stefan> interesting the 2.5" comes with a large usb socket and the 3.5" a mini, hate how mini has become standard for everything now
16:49:01 <Timegrinder> it'
16:49:06 <Timegrinder> It'd be nice if mini was the standard overall
16:49:07 <stefan> but yeah, the 2.5" is old
16:49:12 <Timegrinder> you'd fit more on a board
16:49:39 <stefan> actually I haven't had problems with them, but other plugs of similar structure/size (eg firewire) tend to be dodgy
16:49:52 <Timegrinder> they really just need a clip
16:50:00 <stefan> yeah
16:50:14 <stefan> like gigabyte's sata cables
16:52:40 <Timegrinder> yeah
20:49:52 Quit: stefan ([email protected]) Exit: hopefully bbs, upgrade
