It's their third attempt, and it looks as though it will succeed 'cos they've had considerable time to adjust the statistics, cook the books, make the submissionns and complete the surveys... we only heard about what was going on a few days ago... the students learned through local media.

Local community leaders are up in arms (or are using the situation to promote their politics), student and staff unions are hopping mad... and the students are getting distressed 'cos they are starting to realise the implications of having to go to Clayton to finish courses... which are not eve offered there. Faculty have never put students high on anny list of priorites...

They NEVER wanted Gippsland Engieering when Monash took over the for Gippsland Institute of Advanced Education.... which had few students enrolled at that time, no Internationals with higher fees for support, but still a more successful degree course that they had!

But previous attempts failed because we (Gippsland staff) became aware early of what was going on.... so Faculty started defining unreachable targets to acheive... and every time we did acheive, they would again move the goal posts further away. The whole process has been carefully stage managed. The final decision was to have been made last week... no idea whenn we were to be "officially" told of what was goinng on
