08:40:51 <coppice> electrohead: That sounds disgusting. It also looks fake. Any significant boiling time would have left a lot less of the beef red

13:52:59 <electrohead> Ampera: hell yeah
13:52:59 <electrohead> I bought that japanese curry and it's all I've been eating for days now, lol
13:52:59 <electrohead> already need to get more
13:52:59 <coppice> running out of kat for the katsu?
13:52:59 <Ampera> It's impossible for me to run out of kat
13:52:59 <coppice> don't be rouxed
13:52:59 <K> oy would any of yall like to see some of my dads hand-drawn pcb reverse engeneering work, both pcb and schematic itself?
13:52:59 <K> it wold be his birthday today
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> Ebay seller found out they sent two UPS out and I got someone elses.
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> the crap one without a battery
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> and now I have to go to the effort of taping it back in it's box and taking it down the post office
13:52:59 <rust_collector> oh no
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> https://i.imgur.com/0eV2Br1.jpeg
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> I got it for £48
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> with a 20% voucher
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> which was suppose to come with batteries working
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> at least they did try to do the wright thing and contact the buyer of where that went to
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> oops *right thing
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> The garage finished with the car
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> they found a hole in one of the pipes leading to the exhaust

13:52:59 <MrMobodies> so it's passed the MOT
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> that's all it's failed on was the emissions but not bad for a car that is 30 years ago
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> oops old
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> I was so worried over the past two days
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> apparently there are about less than 10 and many off road
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> It's an Audi 100e Quattro 1994
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> with a 2.8 litre engine V6
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> and it goes up hills without much noise and don't have to change gears as much
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> In Derbyshire, a very hill place, quite a few of the staff at this school had these little 1+ litre cars and when they'd give the students lift's it was pathetic
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> the noise was terrifying on some of them, they'd have to go into 1st gear and they'd stop up the hills.
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> on the normal flat roads they were okay
13:52:59 <K> oy Kuschelpony
13:52:59 <Kuschelpony> Hello K
13:52:59 <Kuschelpony> hope your electrons flow well
13:52:59 <K> they do ok

13:52:59 <K> that is some of my dads hand-drawn pcb reverse engeneering work, from years back
13:52:59 <arch> K, that's neat. was he into hifi audio?
13:52:59 <K> he was repairing stuff
13:52:59 <K> any electronics
13:52:59 <K> kinda specialized in "hard cases", when there was no schematic or any info on device
13:52:59 <arch> nice. well, i guess the positive was back then, it was easier than today. no microcontrollers, lack of tiny SMD components, etc
13:52:59 <arch> all thru hole parts
13:52:59 <K> there are some w smds too, but more than 2 layers was hard
13:52:59 <K> but no that much stuff with >2 layer boards in 90s here
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> So he drew those. The rawings looks very neat.
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> Yes lots of transistors
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> https://i.imgur.com/THFpcFW.jpeg
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> just had some vegetable curry
13:52:59 <K> took the actual physical pcb, transferred it to paper, colored in the tracks, and then made the schematic, yeah
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> a bit like what Bigclive does but on a massive scale.
13:52:59 <arch> that's always fun. ive done a few of them, but nothing nearly as complicated. just a couple of cheapo chinese flyback topology power supplies
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> but the handwriting and drawings are so neat and nice it's a pleasure to look at it.
13:52:59 <MrMobodies> nice he can adapt and build things for the "hard cases" that were not there before
13:52:59 <flyback> chinese flyback eh?

20:44:05 <Halcyon> Greetings from Tasmania
20:44:23 <steve30> hi
20:44:51 <K> Halcyon, pet a devil for me!
20:44:58 <Halcyon> I'm here for work unfortunately.
20:45:09 <K> ah.
20:46:41 <Halcyon> Not sure I'll have too much time to gallivant
20:48:43 * steve30 is tired
20:48:53 * Halcyon espresso's steve30
20:48:59 <steve30> I miss the days when I wasn't tired all the time.
20:49:40 <Halcyon> Surely there are pills for that
20:51:46 <steve30> yeah... i spent long enough addicted to pills already
20:52:13 <Halcyon> You shouldn't be addicted to them. But if it means you're treated for whatever, surely that's a good thing?
20:58:27 <K> !coffee steve30
20:58:28 * EEVBot throws screaming hot coffee at steve30

23:09:14 <Ampera> Halcyon expecting pills to be magical is the most on brand thing for him, lol
23:09:22 * Ampera pets steve30
23:16:53 <K> magical!
23:18:50 <electrohead> no u
23:28:37 * steve30 writes Ampera a prescription
23:28:56 <Ampera> ah yes, this should fix me magically
23:35:18 <electrohead> Lol
23:35:42 <K> SMILE MORE FFS
23:35:44 <electrohead> So, both playing and fighting with the Grandstream HT813 ATA
23:36:02 <Ampera> ATA boy
23:36:11 * electrohead hugs the Ampera
23:36:24 * Ampera kisses the electrohead :3
23:36:27 <Ampera> how ya doin <3
23:36:37 <electrohead> alive and well for the most part, lol
23:36:50 <steve30> my HT813 tinkled earlier
23:37:04 <steve30> It was "bank security department"
23:37:14 <electrohead> excited to get that latest server in the rack finally; resorting to welding the two pieces together for each side, as the screws that hold the rail halves together stick out too far
23:37:29 <electrohead> steve30: hrmm?
23:38:23 <steve30> as in "bank security department" telephoned to let me know that I'd sent ten thousand pounds through online money transfer service :D
23:39:21 <electrohead> oh :D
23:40:09 <steve30> i have a rotary phone hooked up to at HT813 hence the tinkling :)
23:41:01 <electrohead> Are you using the FXO port as well?
23:41:31 <steve30> i used to, but not any more. Just the FXS port now as I no longer have an analogue line
23:43:05 <electrohead> Back when you did, were you using both FXO and FXS at the same time?
23:43:18 <steve30> yes
23:43:51 <electrohead> Ok, ever have any weird issues with calling said phone, and it wouldn't fully answer until answering for a second time?
23:45:04 <steve30> don't think so
23:45:28 <electrohead> The only thing I didn't do, was start from scratch with the HT813 after doing the latest firmware update
23:45:41 <electrohead> Wasn't a major update, but to be safe I'm redoing right now
23:46:06 <steve30> i've never updated mine
