15:33:00 <Devil45> cloning is quicker (in most cases) than a fresh os install + updates
15:33:00 <Devil45> and yesterday the rig i planned to put the new cloned drives into was the same hardware as before - all i changed was drives.

15:35:00 <Devil45> i put the original os install drives in wd anti static packs (that had been used for other rigs before)
15:35:00 <Devil45> to reduce dust and damage
15:35:00 <Devil45> install date for the os i cloned - october 2016
15:36:00 <Devil45> so if i copy that drive to a new one - the install date will be 2016
15:36:00 <Devil45> i use the clone as the main
15:37:00 <Devil45> no errors
15:37:00 <Devil45> :o) - i guess you can clone a drive any way you want as long as it works (or if something needs fixing its easy to do)
15:38:00 <Devil45> handy if the original has bad sectors that cant be repaired
15:39:00 <Devil45> of apps files and the os for each specific rig
