#oblivion has a varied user base with people who visit regularly
from all over the planet.
#oblivion was created in February 2003 when many DALnet refugees
left their home in search for new channels on Austnet. Although
most are not DALnet refugees now, through the channel's expansion,
those DALnet refugees still call #oblivion their home.
#oblivion is still a rather small channel with an average
of 16 people in the channel and a peak of 30 users. Many users
find the botnet to be extremely helpful with the wide variety
of functionality that it provides its users. From news and
weather reports to last seen reports, the botnet churns out
many replies to users' requests daily. The botnet's most useful
function is to protect the channel from undesired spammers
and flooders with amazing precision. The owner codes the bots
himself and does so as a hobby; thereby, protecting the channel
way beyond ChanOP's banmask abilities.
All of #oblivion's channel regulars consist of people above
the age of 20 with many above the age of 30. If one is looking
for a mature, friendly and enjoyable chatting environment,
#oblivion may be worth having a look at.
