AustNet has servers strategically placed to provide coverage to nearly all countries worldwide. To obtain the best connection, you should generally find the closest server to you and connect to it using your IRC client of choice.

Swiftdsl.* testlink terminated
Swiftdsl.* (Swiftel) has officially delinked from AustNet. It's testlink was terminated tonight (10 Sept 03). We thank Swiftel and its administrator for their time and resources.

Spin.* adds new staff member
One of our Australian client servers has added its first additional staff member since linking to the network nearly a year ago. We would like to congratulate and welcome robbie as a local operator on the server.

Deathstar* delinked
New server Deathstar* has unfortunately delinked from the network shortly after permanent linking.

Two new servers for AustNet
Kas.* vote for permlink to Austnet was concluded last night. We would like to congratulate and welcome the admin hell_ to AustNet. Vote results can be viewed HERE. USA server Deathstar.*'s permlink vote also closed last night, resulting in a permanent position for the server on AustNet. Congratulations to chatbox the admin. Vote results may be seen HERE.

Another network peak
Tonight AustNet reached another milestone, with 13988 concurrent clients. Thanks to all the users who have made AustNet their online home.

New Network Peak
Last night, AustNet peaked again - reaching 13919 concurrent connections. This is about the 4th time that AustNet has reached a new peak in recent history and demonstrates that our userbase and the network are growing healthily. Congrats guys and gals!

Kas.* Testlink extended
Routing has extended the kas.* server's testlink for an extra 30 days due to administration reasons. The server's vote and DNS entrys will be remain suspended until if/when the server is permlinked.

Change of name for digital.* server
In line with Digital's sponsors company restructuring, the server is now hosted by Infinite Networks. For this reason, the server has now changed names to infinite* and can be connected to on infinite.tx.us.austnet.org.

Deathstar.* Testlink
AustNet continues to expand its network with another server - deathstar.or.us.austnet.org. This server is located in Portland, Oregon, USA. We welcome and wish goodluck to the administrator, chatbox. Through the testlink period, you may connect to this server via chat.anekabaru.com.

New Network Peak
Once again, on March 11th the ever growing network hit a new peak last night 13594 concurrent users! Thank you to our loyal users that choose the AustNet IRC Network to irc.
