AustNet's NickOp service allows a user to register and 'own' a nickname with the use of a password.With a registered nickname the person has the ability to register a channel, as well as chat with nofear of their nickname not being available in the near future. NickOp allows a user to control the security on a nickname.
  • NickOp Commands
    • ADDHOST - adds a user@host to a nickname.
    • DELHOST - deletes a user@host from a nickname.
    • DROP - drops or de-registers a registered nickname.
    • INFO - displays information about a registered nickname.
    • IDENTIFY - identifies you to nickop as the owner of a nickname.
    • KILL - kills someone using your registered nickname off the network.
    • LISTHOST - lists all the current user@hosts for your registered nickname
    • REGISTER - allows a user to register a nickname as their own.
    • SET - sets options for a nickname such as: url, e-mail, kill, password, usemsg, and aop.
    • LINK - links 2 nicks registered under the same user together.

    NOTE

  • All nickop commands are avaliable online by typing /msg nickop help.
  • Nicknames will expire with 4 weeks on inactive usage.
  • For a lost nickname password, come to #help.
